explained, and you will work on your graphic organizer.
Wednesday: We will meet in the computer lab down the new hall. You will work on
your essay.
Thursday: We will meet in the computer lab down the new hall. You will work on your
essay. It is due by 4 p.m.
Due Date: September 24, 2015 (Thursday)
Read: “The Most Dangerous Game” and “The Lady, or the Tiger”
Think: In “The Most Dangerous Game,” Rainsford swims ashore Ship-Trap Island, a mysterious
island in the Caribbean Sea. Throughout world literature, many characters have found
themselves in similar circumstances.
Write: Write a short story located on an exotic or mysterious island. Be sure to use a range of
literary strategies and devices to enhance the plot and descriptive details to convey what your
main character encounters on his or her adventures.
Be sure to—
 Clearly state your thesis
 Organize and develop your ideas effectively
 Choose your words carefully
 Edit your writing for grammar, mechanics, and spelling
If you type, double space 12pt font. Typing is not required!
You must share your document on Google Doc. I will show you how.
You must turn in:
 A completed graphic organizer
 The rubric (I will use this to grade your essay, so please don’t mark on it.)
 Your essay
