ADMINISTRATOR CORNER:
Oh my goodness! Can you believe
we are out with the old and in with the new
year already! So with that said, HAPPY
NEW YEAR TO ALL! I must say, our
resident and family christmas brunch was a
huge hit, and so wonderful to see such a
large turn out of families and residents
dining together and reminiscing over old
memories while making new ones!
To start the new year off on the right
foot, the Litz family have some great news
to share! Within a few weeks, we will be
receiving our brand new 2017 Hillside
Terrace shuttle bus! “The only one of its
kind, offering all the benefits of a lowfloor bus, superior accesibilty that is
available to everyone. Say goodbye to
risky steps and lifts, and hello to the future
of the cut-away bus. Riders of all abilities
no longer need to contend with steps or
lifts, every passenger, including wheel
chair riders and power scooters can
experience what true access really means.
This bus provides a single, non
discriminatory angled accessible ramp
entryway.”

NEWS FROM ACTIVITIES:

.
Happy New Year! With the start of a
New Year come many changes. You may find
yourself making new friendships or renewing
an old one. Participating in activities or even
coordinating your own activity. Whatever it
may be we hope your New Year is filled with
happiness and joy!
Temporarily, we will have no Saturday
or Sunday activities, with the exception of a
music performance every Saturday at 3pm,
and chapel services on Sundays at 3pm. We
have also moved around a few activities so
please be sure to double check this month’s
calendar when attending an event. For
example, book club has been moved from
Tuesday afternoons and Saturday mornings to
Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings,
so that it does not interfere with other
activities. We have also brought back one of
our favorite activities, NewsCurrents. This is a
weekly set of articles focused on current
events and world history that we will read and
discuss in a group setting. If you’d like to join
us this will take place on Fridays at 3:30pm in
the T.V. lounge, titled News & Views!
As Nanya mentioned already, sometime
in mid-January we will be receiving our brand
new Hillside Terrace Bus! This bus offers
dignity to all residents with one single ramp
entrance for all. Because we now have this to
offer, in 2017 we will be going on even more
outings! If there is any where you’d like to go,
please don’t hesitate to suggest it to us!
Have a happy 2017!

RESIDENT’S CORNER:
The First Snow
I woke up this morning
And what a beautiful sight
The gray leavings of fall
Had left us during the night.
Aileen (Above) and Harriet (Below) enjoying
Christmas brunch with their families
The sun was shining brightly
Our world was all aglow
Our landscape was now covered
With a beautiful blanket of snow.
The pine trees out front
With their new flocking of white
Were transformed with beauty
Sometime during the night.
And then amid the pines
To my eyes they did appear
There was one little fawn
And a big mama deer.

As she looked all around

Then left with a leap and a bound.
