Presentation of the public demonstration “March for Europe”
On 25th of March, while Europe is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome that established the
European Economic Community (EEC), thousands of Europeans will meet in Rome and participate in the March
for Europe, showing their support for the European project and calling for a relaunch of Europe’s political unity.
The initiative is promoted by the Union of European Federalists, the Young European Federalists, The Spinelli
Group and the European Movement International together with a wide network of organisations coming from all
around Europe.
Participants at the press conference: Lia Quartapelle Procopio, Member of the Italian Parliament, Brando
Benifei, Member of the European Parliament, Monica Frassoni, co-Chair of the European Green Party,
Giorgio Anselmi, President of the European Federalist Movement (Italy), Giulio Saputo, Secretary
General of the Young European Federalists (Italy), Ophélie Omnes, Vice-President of the Young European
Federalists (Europe) and Paolo Vacca, Secretary General of the Union of European Federalists.
