FESSI Master Fitter 1 day assessment course Course objective To gain FESSI Master Fitter status by achieving the Nuway Advanced Level Standard by demonstration of knowledge and understanding to enable identification of product, fitting and site specific problems and the techniques required to rectify in order to provide a safe and fit for purpose installation. Course content Shaping (Advanced) Fault-board • Assessment Shape (Regular shape with cut outs) • Identify problems on mock-up board - Candidate will be required to commence day with demonstration of hands on skills in shaping Nuway Tuftiguard. - This will be assessed and any candidate not passing will not be eligible to proceed on course • Complex Shape (No parallel sides) - Candidate will be required to discuss and demonstrate working with complex angled matwells using Nuway Tuftiguard Product Alignment • Rib-Alignment - Candidate will be required to demonstrate an understanding of the causes and methods of rectification • Wiper strip orientation - Candidate will be required to identify this error and demonstrate ability to rectify Installation • Reversing mat sections -C andidate will be required to identify and explain action needed to remedy • Cut mat short -C andidate will be required to identify problem and provide options to remedy creating better environments • Identify if problem is installation, product or site error • How to rectify identified faults -C andidate will be given a Nuway installation mock-up board and asked to identify above Site Issues • Wrong orientation of mat sections (DOT) - Candidate will be required to demonstrate understanding of the problem and methods to rectify Course content Surveying • Survey error - Candidate will be required to identify missing or incorrect information from a survey • Additional detail after measure - Candidate will be required to demonstrate understanding of all information needed to order and fit mats • Incorrect angle - Candidate will be required to explain how to rectify and alter the angle of a cut mat module and identify the additional materials required to correct Course requirements Equipment • Candidate will need to provide basic Nuway tools required for the training course • Candidate will need to provide safety footwear and suitable workwear during the course Experience • Candidate will need to provide evidence of Nuway installation work carried out • Candidate must have completed and passed the FESSI Technician Course at least 12 months prior to attending the Master Fitter course Candidate assessment Each candidate will be required to complete all above sections during the one day course. All elements of the course will be marked and candidates achieving over 85% pass mark will be accredited as a FESSI Master Fitter.
