2017 SENIOR INDOOR GAMES RULES
RULES: Official rules found at website link listed under specified events, except where Sr. Games
additional rules apply.
EQUIPMENT: Supplied equipment must be used except for target golf (clubs), badminton (rackets) &
table tennis (paddles) where participants are allowed to use their own.
50 METER RUN: Runners will run the 50 meter distance and will be timed for placement.
400 METER RUN: Runners will run the 400 meter distance and will be timed for placement.
BADMINTON: Rules followed will be the rules published at Badminton.org at this website:
http://www.badminton.org/badminton-rules.html. Players will be responsible for calling their own
penalties and line calls if a judge is not available. If agreement cannot be made, that point will be
replayed. Players are responsible for securing a score keeper or keep the score themselves if a
scorekeeper is not available. Singles only, best of three, single elimination tournament. To win a game
you must reach 21 points before your opponent. If you do so then you will have won that set. If the
scores are tied at 20-20 then it comes down to whichever player manages to get two clear points ahead.
If the points are still tied at 29-29 then the next point will decide the winner of the set. Winning the
overall game will require you to win 2 out of the 3 sets played.



Rally Scoring: Player winning the rally play scores 1 point & wins serve.
Players must serve diagonally across the net to their opponent. As points are won then serving
stations move from one side to the other. There are no second serves so if your first serve goes
out then your opponent wins the point.
A serve must be hit underarm and below the server’s waist. No overarm serves are allowed.
BATTING CAGE CHALLENGE: Players will be fed 20 pitches by the pitching machine. They will receive
points based on where the ball lands. 1 point for a hit ball that does not clear the area in front of the red
mat, 2 points for hitting the floor past the red mats or hitting the side netting, 3 points for hitting the net
directly in front of the pitching machines, 4 points for hitting the net above the net that is front of the
pitching machines. No points are awarded for any missed balls.
BENCH PRESS: Bar must go from touching the chest to having arms locked at elbows to count as a press.
Three total attempts are allowed, one at each weight. Participant selects what weight will be pressed on
each of the three attempts. Placement based on most weight lifted on any one of the three attempts.
BICEP CURL: Bar starts at the down position at the legs, while standing straight with your back against a
wall, lower bar until arms are straight and then bring up to touching the chest. Two total attempts are
allowed, one at each weight. Participant selects what weight will be curled on each of the two attempts.
Placement based on most weight lifted on either attempt.
BOCCE: Singles only, women & men. Single elimination. Rules per
http://www.ibocce.com/rules.html. First player to 15 wins, must win by 2. Players will keep score and
use a tape measure to settle disputes. If WHITE ball leaves the court, it is placed 6” from boundary line
on the court where it crossed over the boundary line.
CORN TOSS (BEAN BAG TOSS): Singles only, men & women. Single elimination first player to 21 or higher
at end of an inning. Rally scoring with all bag points counted each throw per inning. Rules published at:

FOOTBALL THROW ACCURACY: Throw 12 balls at target. 3 points if the FOOTBALL goes in the pocket and
1 point if FOOTBALL hits the target but does not go in the pocket. Placement based on total points. On
the final throw, if participant scores a point they can keep throwing and accumulating points. (Max 2X)
Distance Men 35’ Women & 75+ 25’. Players 85+ distance 20’.
FOOTBALL THROW DISTANCE: Two throws for distance. Measured from line where throw was made.
Longest of the two throws is recorded. Placement based upon longest throw. Throw is a foul throw if
the ball hits the side curtain or side netting, will not be counted and cannot be re-thrown.
FOUL SHOOTING: Players will get 12 shots from the foul line. (15’) Women & 75+ option to shoot from
closer line. (12’) Placement based on total number of points.
FRISBEE THROW-ACCURACY: Throw 12 Frisbees at target. 3 points if the FRISBEE goes in the pocket and
1 point if FRISBEE hits the target but does not go in the pocket. Placement based on total points. On the
final throw, if participant get a point they can keep throwing and accumulating points. (Max 2X)
Distance Men 35’ Women & 75+ 25’. Players 85+ distance 20’.
FRISBEE THROW-DISTANCE: Two throws for distance. Measured from line where throw was made.
Longest of the two throws is recorded. Placement based upon longest throw. Throw is a foul if the
Frisbee hits the side curtain or side netting, will not be counted and cannot be re-thrown.
HORSESHOES: Singles only. Single elimination tournament. Men 30’, Women 25’.
Game to 21, must win by 2. Men and women 75+ distance is 25’. Rules are per

MILE RUN: Runners will be timed over a mile course and placement will be determined by lowest times.
PINOCHOLE: Four handed cut throat, dealer stuck for 12, 12 low bid, high score wins, four deals around.

ROWING 1K: Athletes compete alone rowing 1000 Meters being auto timed 5 min limit. Athletes placed
by lowest times. In the event of identical times, a 250 Meters row off will be held to break the tie.
SHOTPUT: Each participant will have two throws with longest being recorded. Distance measured from
the line at the point the throw was made. The shot must be thrown with the hand starting at the
shoulder position. Placement based on the single longest throw. All participants, men & women will use
8lb. shot. (or Sr. Games designated weight shot)
SOCCER PENALTY KICK: Each participant is given 7 shots on goal. Points are accumulated by having the
ball pass over the goal line and into the goal. 5 points if ball goes into the goal between the post and the
outer marker, 2 points for next inner marker and 1 if through the center markers.
SOFTBALL THROW ACCURACY: Throw 12 softballs at target. 3 points if the ball goes in the pocket and 1
point if it hits the target but does not go in the pocket. Placement based on total points. On the final
throw, if participant get a point they can keep throwing and accumulating points. (Max 2X)
Distance Men & Women 45’. Distance 30’ for players 75+. (optional)

TABLE TENNIS: Singles only, best of five, single elimination tournament. Rules are as per

Must win by 2, serve switches every 2 serves until someone reaches 10 at which point it alternates
serves.
TARGET GOLF: Participants may only use a 9 iron or 7 iron and can use their own or supplied clubs.
(Recommend Left-Handed players bring own club.) Each player allowed 2 practice hits. Player will hit 10
color balls from tee mats and will be aiming for a target on the turf. Scoring will be based upon where
the ball stops rolling. 5 points for a center hit, 3 for next outer circle, 2 for next circle and 1 points for
the “field” as long as it clears the first yellow arc. If a ball ends up on a white scoring line, it will be
scored at the higher amount of points.
WIFFLEBALL CHALLENGE: Players will be pitched underhand balls and will get 10 swings. Points will be
accumulated based on where ball first hit the turf. 1pt if ball hits inside first arc, 2pts if ball hits outside
first arc & inside second arc, 3pts if ball lands outside second arc and 5pts if ball hit over mid line. If a
ball lands on a white scoring line, it will be scored at the higher amount of points. Placement is based on
total points earned.
