MOAA Kansas Council of Chapters: Goals for 2015
Recruitment and Retention
Kansas Chapters have varying local and state factors that influence membership recruitment,
that is, an active military posts or air base, a state university with active ROTC, State Capital,
number of military retirees, or high population center.
GOALS: Influence council chapters to establish a numerical goal for new members for 2015
and retain 95% of active membership, not including those who have died or moved.

divided into four congressional districts and represented by two senators. At the state level,
there are 40 senators and 125 representatives.
GOAL: Influence council chapters to invite state and/or federal legislator as a guest speaker
during 2015 and make contact with legislative staff on MOAA national issues.
Maintain Visibility in the Local Community
To be fully effective, Kansas Chapters should participate and contribute within their
communities. Examples include implementing and sustaining scholarship programs, leading
patriotic events (such as, Veterans Day programs), and cooperating with other veterans’ service
organizations (such as, VFW).
GOAL: Encourage council chapters to participate and contribute within their communities by
demonstrating the level of leadership expected of current and retired officers.
Level of Excellence (LOE) Submissions for 2014
Council and Chapter LOE submissions provide detailed description activity during 2014.
GOAL: Develop and submit council submission and influence council chapters to develop and
submit chapter LOE submissions NLT June 1, 2015.
