The View from the South
th
Our 2nd Saturday Breakfast for September will be on the 14 .
The Kennebunk Police Chief, Robert MacKenzie, has contact us
about putting on a CHIPS program for them. The Department
st
will be hosting their 1 annual Bicycle Rodeo on Saturday
September 14th from 10 am to 2 pm, at Kennebunk Elementary
School.
The Bicycle Coalition of Maine will provide a safety course and
skill games for riders K thru 8th grade.
The Kennebunk Bicycle Company will be doing free bicycle
safety checks and helmet fittings.
The Kennebunk Police will also offer free bicycle registration
to all Kennebunk bicycle owners. Dozens of recovered
bicycles go unclaimed each year and this registration will give
the officers enough information to get them back to their owners.
York and Arundel Lodges will be running a CHIPS program and
we need volunteers to help man the stations. We have already
arranged to have two CHIPS stations on hand and we will need
6-8 volunteers to cover the two shifts - 10am to noon and noon
to 2 pm. No experience or computer ability is required. To sign
up (before I corner you somewhere and twist your arm) give me
a call at 985-9438, or Email [email protected] or see
me at the stated meeting. This is really easy and makes a great
statement to our community.
Fraternally,
Dan Fink, Junior Warden
The Master’s Corner
Brethren:
As I continue to look back on all the events held in
celebration of our 200th year, I thank the good Lord
Almighty for being blessed with your friendship and
brotherly love. I am honored to be your Master during this
anniversary year & humbled by all the things that you
officers & members of the lodge do & do so well. Many
good times have been shared & successful events have
become history we can be proud of. From the first Master
Mason Degree of our next hundred years to our table lodge
to our car show to our Saint John’s Sunday & Concert to
our support in the military degree work to our ritual work in
our daughter lodges to our visitations to New Hampshire
Masonic districts south & our North Woods districts. It`s
been quite a journey & it`s not over yet. I wonder what the
brethren will be doing in March 2113. In between all the
day to day activities we must pause & give praise to the
most high God & hope in our hearts that the brothers who
have recently passed to his kingdom are at peace and that
they will live on in our memories as Masons. As Master,
the most difficult duty for me was & still is the “Masonic
Service”. I struggle deeply & learn from the sacred
scriptures, as well as from Masonic tradition, one of the
valued lessons in masonic philosophy from our lodge
elders. It doesn`t get any easier no matter how many times
you are behind the podium. I could have never got thru
them without the care and guidance of our past grand
masters, past masters & our chaplain. We have lost some
very dear friends in the last few months and I as well as all
of you continue to mourn for our fallen brothers. Knee to
Knee; that we should ever remember a brother Master
Mason in our devotions to Deity.
I want to personally thank each and every one of you for
your participation in the masonic services. Many times the
family members have sought me out and thanked me and
wanted me to thank the brethren of York Lodge.
Life goes on! They will all be missed…
Looking forward to seeing you all at the stated meeting on
Monday the 9th. Brethren, may we always meet & part.
May the blessings of Heaven rest upon us and all regular
masons. May Brotherly Love prevail & every moral &
social virtue cement us.
Sincerely and Fraternally
Wor. Thomas Dudevoir
200th Anniversary
In Memory
There isn’t a great deal to report since we have been dark but
our year is far from over and we will be doing several things
during the next months. We have in the works a couple of public
projects. One would be to have a public supper and showing of
the recording of the Concert of Masonic Composers which was
given at Christ Church on St. Johns Sunday. Another is to have
a Public Supper and presentation by RW Larry Vennell on the
trip and work he and his wife did this year in Ireland.
