The Greek noun musterion (µυστηριον) means “mystery, secret, secret teaching, hidden teaching, Bible Doctrine that was never revealed to Old Testament saints, God’s set of instructions for the Church Age believer” 1. “The content of the doctrines & the actual principles & points that had to be learned by the initiated.” 2. Used in the ancient fraternities of Athens, Greece in the 7th, 6th, 5th & 4th centuries! 1 3. These ancient fraternities had secret doctrines which they called mystery doctrines! 4. Only those inititated into those fraternities knew the mystery doctrines or the secrets! 5. The Mystery Cults were based upon Greek, Egyptian & Roman mythology. 6. Most of these mystery fraternities were related to the “gods of the underworld.” 7. Every Greek fraternity had its own sercret doctrines and cultic rites! 8. These rites pictured these “gods” and those that were inititated were suppose to share the same fate of these “gods.” 9. These mystery doctrines of the ancient Greek fraternities were false doctrines! 10. The Mystery Doctrine that the Apostle Paul taught and is found in the New Testament is Truth! 11. Paul took the noun musterion away from the secrets of the ancient mystery cults & used it in technical theological language! 12. He did this to indicate that the doctrine that he was teaching was totally unknown in Old Testament times! 13. God designed Mystery Doctrine especially for you and I here in the Church Age! 14. Once, you have been born again and saved, you must be initiated! 15. You must learn, understand, take the test and pass it! 16. Musterion is something that is hidden from those outside the fraternity! 17. The fraternity is the Royal Family of God formed by the Baptism of the Holy Spirit at the moment of salvation! 18. Only members of the Royal Family of God have received the Mystery Doctrine of the Church Age! 19. Our Lord taught this principle to us disciples and employed it Himself (Matt. 13:10-11)! 20. Only the initiated or within our Lord’s circle of students were given the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven! B. The Greek verb mueo (muew) means “to be initiated into the mysteries of the fraternities, to learn & to understand & to take a test & pass it” C. The Greek noun muste (µυστη) means “those who were initiated.” D. The Greek adjective mustikos (µυστικος) means “secret rites in the doctrine.” IV. Revelation & the Mystery Doctrine: A. God revealed the Mystery Doctrine for the Church Age to the apostles & in particular the apostle Paul! B. The Apostle Paul spoke about the Mystery Doctrine in his writings in greater detail and at greater length than our Lord did! C. The Apostle Paul knew what he was teaching was a Mystery not taught by the Old Testament prophets (1 Cor. 2:7; 4:1)! D. God had to reveal the Mystery Doctrine for the Church Age to Paul! E. Paul did not make it up, nor did any of the other apostles! F. Mystery Doctrine was received by the Apostle Paul through direct revelation from the Lord Himself! G. Mystery Doctrine can only be known through revelation! H. Revelation means “to make known.” I. The Greek word for revelation is apokalupsis which is found in Ephesians 3:3! J. Apokalupsis is defined as “God making known to man what is otherwise unknowable.” K. God has to reveal His will to us, we can’t seek it out! L. The noun apokalupsis implies an “unveiling, disclosure by God Himself regarding things previously unknown and things that cannot be explained.” M. Apokalupsis is always used in the New Testament in connection with musterion, “mystery!” N. God has revealed Himself in 3 ways: 1. Nature or Creation (Psa. 19:1-6; Rom. 1:19-20)! 2 2. The written Word, the Bible in its original languages! 3. The Lord Jesus Christ as the Living Word! O. Revelation: 1. The Lord Jesus Christ during the Great Power Experiment of the Hypostatic Union revealed God! 2. The Lord Jesus Christ is the revelation of God (John 1:18; 6:46; 1 Tim. 3:16; 1 John 4:12)! 3. The Lord Jesus Christ reveals the wisdom of God (1 Cor. 1:24)! 4. The Lord Jesus Christ reveals the power of God (Heb. 1:1-3)! 5. Nature tells us there is a God but nature cannot give us any information about God’s purpose for our lives, His will for our lives, the way of salvation, or any other factor! 6. God’s will, purpose, plan and the way of salvation are only revealed in the written Word! 7. The Bible in its original languages is the exact record, the mind and will of God! 8. The Lord Jesus Christ Himself through revelation gave the Apostle Paul the Mystery Doctrine for the Church Age! 9. Paul did not receive it from man but from Christ (1 Thess. 2:13)! 10. The Old Testament prophets knew nothing about the Church Age! D. The Church Age was not revealed to the Old Testament prophets! VII. The First Prophesy of Mystery Doctrine A. Mystery Doctrine & the Protocol Plan of God The Greek word musterion is a synonym for the Protocol Plan of God! A synonym is a word which has the same meaning as another word! The Protocol Plan of God is God’s, will, purpose & plan for the Church Age believer! The Protocol Plan of God says that a right thing must be done in a right way! God’s way is perfect & is the right way! You cannot do things God’s way without knowledge of Mystery Doctrine! Mystery Doctrine teaches the Church Age believer on how to do things God’s way which is the right way & the perfect way! The Protocol Plan of God is God’s perfect way of doing things! Mystery Doctrine & the Protocol Plan of God are one in the same! Mystery Doctrine reveals the Protocol Plan of God for the Church Age! It reveals God’s perfect plan for your life which will give you His perfect happiness! Perceiving, metabolizing & applying Mystery Doctrine is synonymous to the execution of the Protocol Plan of God! Both, Mystery Doctrine & the execution of the Protocol Plan of God produce Invisible Heroes! There can be no execution of the Protocol Plan of God without knowledge of the Mystery Doctrine for the Church Age! The omnipotence of God the Holy Spirit & knowledge of Mystery Doctrine gives the believer the divine power needed to execute the Protocol Plan of God (Heb. 4:12)! Knowledge of Mystery Doctrine will result in the execution of God’s Game Plan for the Church Age which is the execution of the Protocol Plan of God! This will result in the glorification of God in the Angelic Conflict & rewards for the believer at the Bema Seat Evaluation (1 Cor. 3:11-14)! You cannot glorify God & become an Invisible Hero without knowledge of the Mystery Doctrines for the Church Age! You will not receive rewards at the Bema Seat Evaluation without knowledge of the Mystery Doctrines for the Church Age! Losers don’t know Mystery Doctrine, but Winners do! The Mystery of the Resurrection of the Church A. The Resurrection of the Church is a Mystery (1 Cor. 15:51-53)! B. The Resurrection of the Church is also called the Rapture! C. The original language of the New Testament which is Greek says that it is the out-resurrection or the exit-resurrection! D. This means that the Church is to exit from the earth at the Last Trumpet! E. The Church will leave this earth and meet the Lord in the atmousphere of the earth at the Rapture (1 Thess. 4:13-17)! F. The Rapture was not known to Old Testament saints! G. The Rapture is for the Church only! H. The Rapture is the only prophecy that we are waiting for here in the Church Age! I. The Rapture is imminent meaning that it could happen at anytime! J. We will receive our resurrection bodies at the Rapture (1 John 3:2)! K. We will have a resurrection body just like our Lord’s! 4 L. M. N. O. P. Q. R. S. T. U. V. W. X. Y. XI. A. B. C. D. E. F. G. H. I. J. K. L. M. N. O. P. Q. R. S. T. U. XII. We will be able to walk through walls (John 20:19)! We will be able to leave the earth vertically (Acts 1:9)! We will be to travel through space in an instant and appear in heaven! We will be able to travel to heaven anytime we want! We will still be able to eat (Luke 24:42-43)! It will be a spiritual body with flesh and bones (1 Cor. 15:44)! It will be a body that will never get tired and will never get sick! It will be raised in power (1 Cor. 15:43)! It will be an imperishable body and not like the one’s we now have that are so frail (1 Cor. 15:52)! We will have an immortal body! The believer’s resurrection is the Lord’s victory over death that He won at the Cross (1 Cor. 15:57)! The believer’s resurrection is a great problem solving device! You should never be afraid of dying because once you die you will be “face to face with the Lord” (2 Cor. 5:8)! Our Lord has delivered us from the fear of death (Heb. 2:14-15)! The Mystery of Israel’s Apostasy & the Gentiles as Fellow-Heirs The nation of Israel’s rejection of Christ turned out to be a blessing for the Gentiles! A Gentile is anyone who is not a Jew! It was a mystery that the Gentiles would become members of the body of Christ! God used Israel’s rejection of Christ as the means of evangelizing the Gentiles and calling out a Royal Family for His Son Jesus Christ (Rom. 11:25)! The rejection of Christ by Israel will continue until the “times of the Gentiles” is complete! Our Lord prophesied about the “times of the Gentiles” in Luke 21:21-24! The times of the Gentiles runs at the same time with the Church Age! God is using this time to call out the Royal Family of God! Israel’s rejection of Christ has resulted in great blessings for the Gentiles! “Salvation” has come to the Gentiles because of this rejection (Rom. 11:11)! “Riches” have come to the Gentiles because of this rejection (Rom. 11:12)! Israel’s rejection of Christ has resulted in the reconciliation of the world (Rom. 11:15)! Israel has only been temporarily set aside until the Royal Family of God is complete, then God will deal with Israel again! God will not deal with Israel until the Church has been taken from the earth in the Rapture! It was a Mystery that the Gentiles would be “fellow heirs with Christ” (Eph. 3:4-6)! Every Gentile who believes in Christ in this dispensation becomes a member of the Body of Christ and has become a fellow heir of Christ! A “fellow-heir” of Christ means that we will receive what our Lord receives! We are rich just as He is rich because of our union with Him! God achieved this through the Baptism of the Spirit! The Gentiles have the same oppurtunity and same equality to function under the greatest plan ever designed by God for people, which is the Protocol Plan of God! Both, born-again Jews & Gentiles in the Church Age have Equal Oppurtunity & Equal Privilege to execute the Protocol Plan of God for the Church Age! The Mystery of the Body of Christ A. Every Church Age believer is a member of the body of Christ through the Baptism of the Spirit (Rom. 12:5; 1 Cor. 12:12-13, 27; Eph. 3:4-6)! B. We are members of the Body of Christ (Eph. 5:30)! 5 C. D. E. F. G. H. I. J. K. L. M. The Church is called the body of Christ on earth! But in heaven, the Church will be called the “Bride of Christ” (Rev. 19:7)! The body of Christ is being formed here in the Church Age! The body is not complete until the last member of the Church has been born! Just as a bride would look funny without a nose or an arm so would the church be without all its members! God the Father would not give His Son a bride without a nose or an arm! The Body of Christ will become the Bride of Christ at the Rapture or Resurrection of the Church! Therefore, each of you hold an important function in the body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:12-27)! Some of you are an arm and some of you are a leg! But each one of you is important to the body just as an arm or a leg! And Christ is the Head! XIII. A. B. C. D. E. F. G. H. I. J. K. L. M. The Mystery of the Husband & Wife Analogy We are intimately related to Christ as a wife is to her husband (Eph. 5:28-32)! This is called a mystery by the apostle Paul! Christ is head of the Church just as the husband is head of the wife in marriage (Eph. 5:22)! The Church is subject to Christ just as the wife is subject to the husband’s authority in marriage (Eph. 5:24)! Husbands are to love their wives unconditionally impersonally just as Christ loves the Church (Eph. 5:25)! Husbands are to love and take care of their wives just as Christ loves and takes care of the Church (Eph. 5:28-29)! Just as when a husband and a wife are intimate and joined together when having sex so is the church joined together with Christ through the Baptism of the Spirit (Eph. 5:31-32)! The union of Christ and the Church is likened to the union of a husband and wife in sexual intercourse! Old Testament saints were never this intimately related to Christ as we are here in the Church Age! Intimate means that you have a very close, personal, one on one relationship with someone! Our union with Christ results in our being members of our Lord’s body & His future Bride! This union is eternal meaning it will last forever! There are 8 Analogies of Christ and the Church: 1. The Lord is King and the Church is the Royal Family of God. 2. The Lord is the Last Adam and the Church is a New Spiritual Species. 3. Christ is the Head and the Church is His Body. 4. The Lord is our Shepherd and the Church is His Sheep. 5. He is the Vine, we are the Branches. 6. He is the Chief Cornerstone and we are the Stones of the Building. 7. The Lord is High Priest and the Church is a Royal Priesthood. 8. Our Lord is the Groom and we are His Bride in resurrected bodies! XIV. The Mystery of Godliness A. The Mystery Doctrine teaches us about the Impeccable Person of our Lord Jesus Christ! B. The Person of Christ was a Mystery but has now been revealed to us here in the Church Age! C. The Person of Christ is called the “mystery of godliness” (1 Tim. 3:16)! D. To know somebody, you have to understand their thinking! E. The Apostle Paul was given the privilege of understanding the mind of Christ and relating it to others! F. Mystery Doctrine is the mind of Christ (1 Cor. 2:16)! 6 G. You can only come to a complete understanding of the mind of Christ through learning Mystery Doctrine (Col. 2:1-2)! H. Those who perceive, metabolize & apply Mystery Doctrine will come to an advanced and perfect experiential knowledge of the Mystery of God, the Lord Jesus Christ! I. The Apostle Paul’s sole desire in life was to think like the humanity of Christ did, which is to “know Him” (Phil. 3:10)! J. Mystery Doctrine teaches us how the humanity of Christ thought! 1. Christianity is about thinking, & not feeling! 2. Christianity is a system of thinking! 3. Right thinking will result in right actions! 4. A right thing must be done in a right way! 5. Mystery Doctrine teaches us the way the humanity of our Lord handled His problems! 6. Our Lord used the problem solving devices of personal love for God the Father, impersonal unconditional love for all mankind! 7. He used the Faith Rest Drill, He was oriented to the grace of God & was doctrinally oriented! 8. He had the perfect happiness or contentment of God the Father! 9. He had a personal sense of destiny! 10. The Apostle Paul understood the mind of Christ better than any man who ever lived (Eph. 3:4)! K. Paul wanted to teach others the “mystery of Christ” (Col. 4:2-3)! L. Mystery Doctrine teaches us how our Lord’s humanity executed the plan of God for His life! 1. Our Lord used the Divine Omnipotence of God the Holy Spirit while on the cross (Heb. 9:14)! 2. The humanity of our Lord’s soul was filled with Bible Doctrine (John 1:14)! 3. “Truth” is the Greek word aletheia (alhqeia) refers to Bible Doctrine or absolute Truth! 4. The basic meaning in classical Greek of aletheia is “that which was hidden and has been revealed or unveiled!” 5. Aletheia expresses “that which the human mind can only understand through Divine revelation!” Sound familiar! 6. Musterion (Mystery Doctrine) and aletheia (Doctrine) both refer to something which was hidden but has been revealed! 7. They are synonyms! M. Mystery Doctrine is the thinking of Christ! 1. His thinking was not known in the Old Testament but has now been revealed to us here in the Church Age! 2. This is not to say Old Testament believers did not know God or have some knowledge of Christ, they did! 3. This means that we have here in the Church Age, the complete revelation of Jesus Christ! 4. Old Testament believers had an incomplete revelation of Christ! 5. They had a “shadow” Christology (Col. 2:17; Heb. 8:5; 10:1)! 6. We have the complete revelation! 7. We have the completed canon of Scripture! 8. To learn Mystery Doctrine is to learn about the mind of Christ (John 1:17)! 9. God in His grace has given you and I here in the Church Age the privilege and the oppurtunity of learning the thinking of His Son which is Divine Viewpoint! XV. The Mystery of Christ in you 7 A. Our Lord prophesied about the Baptism of the Spirit and His deity indwelling the body of every believer (John 14:20)! B. This indwelling of Christ in our physical bodies is to give us confidence (Col. 1:27)! C. A believer who does not learn and understand Mystery Doctrine will lack confidence in life! D. Learning Mystery Doctrine will give us confidence in life! E. Believers who lack confidence in life do not understand Mystery Doctrine! F. Believers who doubt their eternal security do not understand Mystery Doctrine! G. They are simply losers! H. Only those who come to an understanding of Mystery Doctrine will ever glorify God! I. You have to have positive volition towards doctrine in order to have a full and complete knowledge of Christ! J. God will not force you to learn about Christ, it is up to you! K. Losers lack confidence because they reject learning Mystery Doctrine! L. Winners have confidence in life because they had positive volition towards doctrine! M. Christ is the believer’s confidence (elpis) (1 Tim. 1:1)! N. The Greek word elpis is often mistranslated as “hope,” but it really means “confident expectation of something” (Rom. 15:13)! O. If you learn Mystery Doctrine, you will learn to think like Christ & will gain confidence! P. Paul was a man who had confidence in life because of his knowledge of Mystery Doctrine (Phil. 4:13)! Q. A confident believer understands: 1. The Baptism of the Spirit! 2. The Protocol Plan of God! 3. They have Equal Privilege & Equal Oppurtunity! 4. Their Portfolio of Invisible Assets! 5. Their Unique Royal Commissions! 6. The Indwelling of the Trinity! 7. The 100% availablility of Divine Power! 8. Their are no prophecies for the Church Age except for the Rapture! 9. Seeks to become an Invisible Hero! 10. Mystery Doctrine! XVI. Mystery Doctrine & Invisible Heroes A. Mystery Doctrine was designed by God the Father to produce Invisible Heroes! B. Invisible God pluse Invisible Assets plus Invisible Power equals an Invisible Hero! C. An Invisible Hero is a believer who has reached spiritual maturity & has an invisible impact on human & angelic history! D. The Church Age is the dispensation of Invisible Heroes! E. The Church Age is the only dispensation that has Mystery Doctrine & the Protocol Plan of God! F. This makes the Church Age a totally unique dispensation! G. The Mystery Doctrine of the Church Age manufactures Invisible Heroes! H. Invisible Heroes glorify God and are blessed! I. Invisible Heroes are winners! J. Winners at the Bema Seat Judgement of Christ will receive tremendous rewards and privileges for becoming Invisible Heroes! K. You cannot become an Invisible Hero without learning & applying the Mystery Doctrine for the Church Age! L. You cannot glorify God without learning & applying the Mystery Doctrine for the Church Age! M. Losers refuse to learn Mystery Doctrine! N. Winners learn & apply Mystery Doctrine! O. Winners will: 8 1. Receive the Uniform of Glory (1 Pet. 5:4; 1 Thess. 2:19-20; 1 Cor. 9:24-27)! 2. Receive the Order of the Morning Star (Rev. 3:4)! 3. Receive the Crown of Life (Rev. 2:10)! 4. Receive the Crown of Righteousness (2 Tim. 4:7-8)! 5. Receive Membership to the Paradise Club & access to the Gazebo in the Garden (Rev. 2:7, 14)! 6. Rule with Christ in the Millennium (Rom. 5:17; 2 Tim. 2:12; Rev. 3:21; 2:26)! 7. Have their name will appear in the permanent historical record section in heaven (Rev. 3:12)! 8. Receive the New Knighthood (Rev. 2:17)! 9. Have their name will appear forever in the Lamb’s Book of Life! 10. Be acknowledged (homologeo) before God the Father in heaven by the Lord Jesus Christ (Rev. 3:5)! P. The Invisible Hero has an invisible impact in four categories: 1. Personal Impact: a. The believer who has attained spiritual maturity! b. Blessing by association with a mature believer! c. Parents, children, business! 2. National Impact: a. Pivot! b. Nation gets blessed because of the Pivot of mature believers! 3. International Impact: a. Blessing by association with mature missionary! 4. Angelic Impact: a. Spiritually mature believer who becomes a witness for the prosecution (God) in the rebuttal phase of Satan’s appeal trial! 9
