This will be studied in the context of mouse models of T cell development in the thymus. In particular we seek an individual who can make use of cutting edge technologies for measuring RNA protein interactions. The project will focus on the zfp36 family of RNA Binding proteins that we have recently found to have key roles in T cell development and function. The lab benefits from a wide range of Institute science services, including flow cytometry, Illumina sequencing, bioinfomatics and transgenic facilities. Key areas of Responsibility • • • • • • • • • • Coordination and analysis of transgenic animals Isolation, purification and characterization of cells Flow cytometry using multicolour analysis RNA purification followed by transcriptome analysis (e.g., RNA-seq) Analysis of RNA-protein interactions by iCLIP Bioinformatic analysis of data Accurate recording of experimental outcomes Regular presentations at group and departmental level Interaction and collaboration with individuals from other laboratories Sharing expertise with other laboratory members Key references: Galloway, A., Saveliev, A., Łukasiak, S., Hodson, D.J., Bolland, D., Balmanno, K., Ahlfors, H., MonzónCasanova, E., Ciullini-Mannurita, S., Bell, L.S., Andrews, S.
