Tornadoes on Their Way to Regionals
By: Alyssa Dawson
The Lady Tornadoes made their way through Districts against Stroud. During the first game the
Tornadoes hit the ball very well. Alee Harmon hit a two-run homerun. The Lady Tornadoes came
out on top 13-1.
During the second game the Tigers came
out fighting. Not wanting to give up
their season. They gave the Tornadoes a
good fight. The Tigers were caught up
with the Tornadoes winning 5-4. The
Tigers had caught up with Sophi Foran’s
pitches; Alyssa Dawson came in to finish
the game. Going into the 6th inning, it
was still 5-4. Ainsley Flewellen got on
base, as well as Mackenzie Flewellen and
Alee Harmon. Alyssa Dawson came up
to bat with one out and fouled the first
three pitches off. They threw an outside fastball and Dawson hit a triple! The Tornadoes won the
second game 9-5.

Tough Loss Against the Bulldogs

On September 12th, our Drumright Cross Country
team went to Tonkawa to compete. Tonkawa is located
northwest of Drumright close to Ponca City. There were
13 schools in the competition and Drumright's
performance scored enough points overall to put us in
2nd place in the meet and to get a trophy. Now the
trophy is on display on the second floor of Drumright
High School.
Even though the Jamboree Jog is not a part of the high
school cross country program, our team will still take
part in the run as individuals. Last year only two people
on the team competed, getting 7th and 8th places.
Considering the improvements in the stats of this year,
there will be great potential lining up on the starting
line.
Last week’s rivalry game against Yale
was very upsetting for the Tornado
football team. It seemed like even
though they played a good clean game,
kindness was not returned by the other
team. The officials that over ruled
Friday’s game were worse than the
players themselves. They constantly
flagged our Tornadoes and didn’t care
when Yale took cheap shots, but
throughout it all, even when the score
was 22-6, even when we had
touchdowns taken away and big plays
flagged, our Tornadoes never gave up.
With a minute left our Tornadoes still
pulled off a touchdown bringing the
final score to 22-12. We may have
lost Friday but we played football how
it was supposed to
be
played.
Honestly, how
could one play like
Yale did and still be proud
of their "victory?"

Go Big, or Go Home!
By: Shyanna Erwin and Zhane Overstreet
The Drumright volleyball team goes to
regionals! They are due to play the Cleveland
volleyball team in Tulsa, who over the past
games have barely beaten us by two points each
match. The girls didn’t get a chance to win last
year when they
played Yale.
