PDR - Reporting Quick Reference Guide Planning, Development and Review (PDR) Reporting PDR REPORTING CRITERIA The Beacon of Enlightenment Operational Plan 2013-2015 has as one of its key enablers and supporters, a strategy to “Enhance performance management and appraisal by developing improved processes, tools and systems”. To address this requirement, a simple Planning Development Review (PDR) tracker was created in the PeopleSoft HR System. This tool enables staff to record participation and save documentation associated with the various phases of the PDR process for their supervisor’s approval. The University of Adelaide Enterprise Agreement 2014 – 2017, requires, at 5.2.1 that: “all staff members (other than casuals) will participate in the PDR process”. For the purposes of reporting and monitoring PDR participation trends, and without compromising the requirement for all staff (other than casuals to participate in PDR), PDR participation will be reported on a quarterly basis in respect of all fixed-term and continuing professional and academic staff, excluding those staff who: are engaged on a fixed term contract of less than 1 year at 31 March YYYY, have left the University or have moved areas, have taken a combined absence/s greater than 20 days (besides the 20 days annual leave that is assumed for all staff), where that absence may impact the staff members ability to participate in the process, such as maternity, long service, unpaid, or personal leave, or lost time associated with workers compensation, are on a period of SSP. HOW TO INTERPRET THE REPORT Quarterly PDR reports will enable managers to track PDR participation within Schools and Branches. These reports are distributed to Divisional heads and Executive Deans for further distribution at their discretion. The reports are presented in Microsoft Excel and include two sheets as follows: 1. The first sheet is a list of fixed term and continuing staff in each Faculty/Division, and indicates their current PDR status, and if they are included in the survey cohort. This sheet also includes their supervisor as listed in the PeopleSoft HR System, and the supervisor who has been selected by the staff member to review the PDR record. 2. The second sheet is a summary of the Faculty/Division PDR participation rates for the survey cohort. The summary shows the number of eligible employees included in the report using the criteria above, the number of PDRs that have been approved by the selected manager (approved), the number waiting manager approval (pending), the total number submitted (approved + pending), and the total participation percentage ((total number submitted/number of eligible employees)*100).
