Talk Wireless will have a demonstration booth in 3000 Wal-Mart locations.
Program staff will interact with Wal-Mart customers, informing them about
Straight Talk Wireless and demonstrating one of the following Smart Phones
(varies by store):

Previsit
THE OBJECTIVE OF THE PREVISIT IS TO ENSURE THE STORE IS ALL SET FOR THE FIRST DEMO DAY ON
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 22:
1.
Visit your store on the 18th or 19th of September.
2.
Check in with both, the Store Mgr. and/or Zone Merchandising Manager and Electronics Mgr.
Introduce yourself as the Straight Talk Wireless Associate who will be conducting the (4) Events on
Sept. 22nd & 29th and Oct. 6th & 13th.
•
Review project with Managers and show the authorization letter from Wal-Mart confirming
your demo location for Saturday, that you will need to be near an electrical outlet for the
purpose of charging the phone during the event, best location to be set-up would be
somewhere in “action alley” close to an entrance.
•
Locate and secure the 2 kit boxes (pictured on next page). If 1 or both of the boxes cannot be
located – refer to the tracking you received. If still cannot be located, please contact us for

Confirm that all of the materials are in your kit using the Demo Check List included in the
shipment. If you are missing any items from the shipment – please alert us right away:

Let the Manager know that 6 of the 10 Standees will be placed around the store (per the
store layout attachment that is included in your shipment) – Let them know these standees
will stay in place for the duration of the 4 week program.
• Make sure there is product on the pegs at the store, if there are out of stocks, please work
with the Manager to see if they can restock the pegs.

Previsit – Activating The Phone
1.
You must activate the Prepaid Phone. – Note we have pre-charged these for you so you should be
able to get started right away.

The process takes 5-10 minutes
You will need your pin card (air card – green on one side, white on the other), this should be included in the
phone packaging. In addition you will need the activation card (three fold with one side being RED ) that will
be your serial number.
Using your personal cell phone, or the WalMart store phone, call 888-442-5096 and say “I’m calling to
activate my Straight Talk phone for the Walmart Make-A-Wish promotion” – this should give you priority for
activating.
For English press #1….continue with pressing #1 for activation feature….press #3 for a Brand new phone.
Continue by pressing #1 choosing that you have a service card number…enter the serial number, say yes,
type or say the serial number of the phone (on the red three fold card) and the Service Pin number (on the
white side of the 6 X 3 card and it will ask for your zip code for the area that the phone will be used the most
from – use the zip code of the store you are working in.
Wait 2 minutes before turning the cell phone on. Do not turn it on prior to this as the system is updating
your service.
Turn the phone on and it will take you through about 3 screens to complete the activation process.
To acquire your phone number press the menu key, tap Settings, using your finger slide down to the end of
the options and tab on About Phone. Tap Status and your phone number will appear under My Phone
Number. To return to the main screen, press the Home key

Once the phone is activated, please become familiar with the phone and features, specifically
focusing on the features you will be pointing out during your demo (demo script and training video
to follow)
Please be sure the phone is fully charged, if it is not, please charge the phone while at the store to
ensure it is ready to go for Saturdays demo.

Previsit – Final Steps
1. Place all the materials from the kit back in the boxes and close. Ensure these are placed back
in the secured area with the assistance of a Manager.
2. BE SURE TO TURN THE PHONE OFF BEFORE STORING IT BACK IN THE KIT SO THAT THE
BATTERY IS NOT DRAINED. NEVER LEAVE THE PHONE UNATTENDED.
3.
Verify that the store has a table that you can use for the day of your events.
4.
Visit the Floral Department to check that the helium machine is in working order.
5. Report form needs to be store stamped and a manager’s signature at the conclusion of your
visit.
6.
Call into the IVR reporting system prior to leaving the store to submit your results. The
reporting instructions and form will be emailed to you.

Demo Event Instructions
1.
Arrive at your store for the 1st week (9/22) at 9:30am and then for week #2-4 (9/29, 10/6 and 10/13) arrival will be
9:45am. Remember your dress code: Black pants, collared white shirt (short or long sleeve), closed toed shoes (no
sneakers) – you will put the Straight Talk Vest on at the store (this should have a Make A Wish pin already adhered)

Upon arrival, please call into us to confirm your arrival: 847-295-8922 or 847-828-8898 or 847-530-8922 and sign the
vendor log.
3.
Introduce yourself to the Manager as the Straight Talk Wireless Associate and present the Letter of Authorization –
NOTE – the stores will not recognize any other company name like Iosue Associates, you must introduce yourself
properly.
•
If you have any difficulty obtaining necessary resources/assistance from Wal-Mart – Please call us immediately
to troubleshoot and resolve: 847-295-8922 or 847-828-8898 or 847-530-8922. We will involve Tracfone as
needed for assistance
4.
With the manager’s assistance locate your boxes with the materials/phone that are locked up in the security
room/cage.
•
If kit cannot be found on day of demo, please contact us to try to resolve: 847-295-8922 or 847-828-8898 or
847-530-8922. If you still cannot locate it and we aren’t able to get you a new phone, you will follow the
“mock demo” instructions described during this training.
5.
IMPORTANT – While you set-up each week, work with the Manager to charge the phone at the Electronics Counter
to ensure you keep the charge needed for the demo.
6.
Set-up the 3 sided standees (6 displays should be set-up – the remaining 4 should be kept secured for use in
subsequent weeks if needed) following the in-store layout form – this shows you where you should be placing these
in the store. For week 2 – 4, you will need to walk the store and replace any of the missing standees--- making sure
not to create a traffic hazard.

Demo Instructions Continued
•
Once you are all set-up, start engaging with customers following the script on the following page. The demo video is a great
tool to get a good feel for how the demo script should flow.
•
Please refer customers to the Electronics Department to answer questions on pricing, coverage maps, phone models, and
customer service issues when you do not have an answer.
•
Each person that views the demo writes their first name only on the tear pad and places into the ballet box. Goal for the
day is a minimum of 90 demos for each Saturday event. Please be sure to use the correct colored tear pad for the correct
week – the dates are listed on these in the bottom left hand corner:
9/22 = green pad
9/29 = pink pad
10/6 = bright blue pad
10/13 = orange pad
•
It is okay to do the demo to more than one person at a time in order to reach your goal. NOTE: If you have depleted the
tear pad for a given week (150 demos), you do not have to do any additional demos. Spend the rest of the shift intercepting
Customers and giving them information on Straight Talk.
•
BREAKS – you may take two 15 minute breaks (these must be take separately, so it is only 15 minutes at a time) during your
6 hour event— never leave the demo phone or live product unattended while on breaks. Try to take your breaks when
customer traffic is slow. It is important to charge the phone while on break, work with the Manager to charge the phone at
the electronics counter so that it is secure.
•
Please be sure to charge the phone at times throughout the demo so that it will keep the charge needed for the demo day

Demo Instructions – Ensuring the
Phone Battery is Charged
•
When possible, try to set your table up close to an electrical outlet so that if needed you can charge the phone
during your shift.
•
It is important that you charge the battery during your two 15 minute breaks – work with the Electronics Manager
to charge it behind the counter in a secure spot during your break.
•
Be sure to charge the battery while you are setting up the demo table each week to ensure it is 100% going into
the demo day – work with the Electronics Manager to charge it behind the counter in a secure spot while you are
setting up.
•
IMPORTANT: shut down all background applications such as blue tooth, WIFI and GPS on the phone before each
shift – this will elongate the battery life.
•
Adjust the screen brightness to lowest level to help elongate the battery life.
•
DO NOT make calls, surf the web, or spend time on youtube unless a specific customer request is made – doing
these things will use up the battery quickly
•
After the first week, you will be authorized to take the phone home, ONLY if you are doing all 4 Saturday demos.
This way you can ensure the phone is fully charged the next Saturdays demo. If you are not working the following
Saturday, please be sure the phone is fully charged when leaving the store for the day.

Doing the Demo With No Phone
If something happens to your phone, or you do not have a working phone, you still
must do your best to execute the “demo script”.
Follow the script and use one of the phone packages included in the shipment to
show the customer a picture of the phone and point out some of the features that
way.
Make sure you call your Supervisor to alert them that there is an issue with your
phone/you do not have a phone and we will send another one for the following
Saturday Demo.

Concluding the Demo Day
•
At the end of your event (4pm) break down your table and carefully repack/secure, charged phone along
with all of your POS materials, premiums and vest in the security room/cage with the assistance of a
manager. Note – You are authorized to take the phone home to charge it, ONLY if you are working the
following Saturdays event. If you are not working, please leave the phone at the store fully charged for the
next weekend.. Please make sure you turn the phone off so that it keeps the charge. NOTE: you should
leave the standees in place throughout the store.
•
Complete your report form, which will include counting the number of MAKE A WISH completed ballots.
Seal all counted ballots and unused ballots for that day in the correct supplied envelope – the envelope
is color coded to match the correct weeks tear pad. You will need to write the number of completed
ballots on the outside of the envelope and record that number on your report form. Work with the
Manager to ensure the sealed envelope is placed with the store’s outgoing mail.
•
Before leaving the store you will need to get your completed report form store stamped and a manager’s
signature.
•
Call into the IVR reporting system BEFORE leaving the store to submit the results of your demo event. It is
important that you report the number of demos your completed (number of tear pad forms filled out)
accurately as these will be counted upon receipt of the shipments to confirm the numbers reported.

Make a Wish Volunteers

Select stores will have a Make A Wish Representative present from 12-2pm. You will be
notified approximately 10 days prior to each demo day if your store is selected. These stores
will receive an additional shipment for the Make A Wish Representative. These kits will
include a standee display, base for the display, umbrella and vest. If your store is selected,
please locate and secure the Make A Wish kit under your demo table until 12pm. The Make
A Wish Representative will check in with you upon arrival to retrieve their materials. They
will then set-up outside of the store directing people to see you for the demo. At 2pm they
will return the materials to you, these should be stored with the rest of your materials at the
end of your demo day.
