Pete Lichau Rose Gate Farm www.rosegatefarm.com Horsemanship. It’s What We’re About! April 2014 Scott Trees at Rose Gate Farm Rose Gate Farm had the pleasure of hosting Scott Trees recently. Scott is recognized and respected as one of the top equestrian photographers and videographers in the world. Edifier Arabians’ Straight Egyptian Arabian stallion, Zandai Saif Al Din was the subject of Scott’s lens on that beautiful spring evening. We learned that he will be hosting equine photography workshops this fall. If you have ever been interested in photography, we would highly recommend learning from one of the world’s best, who just happens to make Fort Worth his home! If you are not familiar with Scott’s work, please visit his website at treesmedia.com On April 11, a yearling filly injured herself on a metal fencepost. Her injuries consisted of a significant tear on her chest and a puncture wound. A veterinarian was called and stitched up what he could of the jagged wound. Antibiotics were administered to prevent infection. The stitches eventually broke and the wound was once again exposed, and very ugly. This particular wound would just have to heal from the inside out. Dynamite products, along with some homeopathies, were used on the filly immediately (before the vet arrived) and a Dynamite treatment regimen was followed each day thereafter and included hydrotherapy Pete Lichau Rose Gate Farm Horsemanship. It’s What We’re About! www.rosegatefarm.com as needed. Only three weeks later, the owner was very pleased at the progress the wound had made. See the photos below and the progress the wound made in just three short weeks. A full testimony of how Dynamite products worked in this case will be on the Rose Gate Farm website soon. Pete Lichau Rose Gate Farm Horsemanship. It’s What We’re About! www.rosegatefarm.com April 2014 April Training Thought Take heed not to slip into “auto-pilot” when you engage with your horse. Whether it is grooming, hand grazing, or saddling and riding, you must always be fully engaged with your horse. Let us not forget that our horses want to communicate with us and each time we are with them presents a new opportunity for a different conversation. Be purposeful and mindful in all you do. The Lord wants this of our walk with Him as well. He does not desire for us to just go through the motions and check off prayer, scripture reading, or meditation from a “to-do” list. Instead, He wants us to come, enjoy being in His presence and listen. He desires a true relationship with us, and that is something that cannot be achieved if we slip into routine rituals without our heart and mind being connected. Take Care and God Bless!
