Dear Patron of the Arts,
Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote “Love of beauty is taste. The
creation of beauty is art.” Texas Outdoor Musical Drama has
created beauty for the last 51 years. The Palo Duro Canyon
which serves as our backdrop is breathtaking and is in itself a
magnificent creation of art that moves our soul. Texas Outdoor Musical Drama enhances this beautiful gift from God
with music, dancing, lighting, special effects and a story of
settling the panhandle of Texas. Over ninety performers,
designers and technicians bring their passion for the arts to the
Pioneer Amphitheatre.
Texas Outdoor Musical Drama is a huge undertaking. The
scope and size of the show must match the state we represent
and the canyon in which we perform. From the beginning, the
show needed financial help from Donors, Corporations, Businesses and grants to maintain the standard of excellence that
has entertained over four million audience members. The show
and its visitors from all over the world have greatly impacted
the economy of the region and provided jobs for aspiring
performers. The need for support continues today.
Bringing the beauty of the arts is vital to the well-being of a
community. It is my hope as you review our proposal you will
consider becoming part of the family of art lovers who bring
‘Texas Outdoor Musical Drama” to life. With your help the
Texas Panhandle Heritage Foundation, the producer of
“Texas”, can continue to make the show the number one outdoor musical in the country. Please consider becoming a
member or donor to the “Official State Play of Texas.”
Texas Forever,
David Yirak
Executive Director
