Arrive to Bus On time • Don’t come to bus ramp unless you ride a bus. • Find your bus in the same lane everyday. • 4:20pm is the magic time – On the bus OR call for a ride • Cell phones and electronic devices are only allowed out in the cafeteria during lunch – Proper Phone use – No photos/videos – Any disruptions and ALL will lose the privilege • If a phone is out during any other part of the day, it will be taken • USING PHONES OR TABLETS OR LAPTOPS AT SCHOOL • If we believe there is a problem, we will search or seize your device. • We can search any device without permission. If the student refuses to unlock a locked device, we keep it until you or your parents decide to give us access. • Anything found ON ELECTRONIC DEVICE that is against the law will be referred to Law Enforcement. • There are risks with bringing in personal devices to school. We are NOT responsible. ELP • • • • • • • Tutorial Grade Enhancement Credit Recovery Expected behavior Wednesdays and Thursdays Bus Ride Home with PASS only Applications in Guidance Cub Lunch • If you have 2 or more zeros in a class you will be referred to Cub Lunch • It is your job to make sure you get your work done so you are not required to miss lunch • If you refuse to do work or to go to Cub Lunch you will be SENT HOME UNTIL PARENT COMES IN Testing • Writing exam starts in February (ALL students) • • • • • Pros of doing well Don’t have to take reading or extra math Get an extra elective Can get into high school you want Incentives • Cons of doing bad • May get retained • Must take two reading and math classes Schedule Changes • Fill out a schedule change form and give to your grade level guidance counselor during lunch • Schedule changes are not guaranteed and rarely done. Student Assistants • If interested applications will be in Cafeteria during lunch • Submit application to Guidance Counselor at LUNCH • Must have and maintain good attendance, discipline, grades • First time you are not fully in uniform you will be removed • 7th and 8th Graders only! Bullying is a NO…NO!!! • • • • Verbal Bullying Social Bullying Physical Bullying Cyber Bullying • Tell your teacher, AP, counselor, school officer or principal FIGHTING or Play Fighting • Learn to walk away and stay away • Bystanders can also receive consequences for contributing to the disruption. Vending Machines • Don’t take food/drinks to class • Don’t go to machine during any class time EVER • Buy at wrong time and lose it • The fences around Greco are for your safety – Do not let ANYBODY inside of the gate – Do not walk out of the gate • Your parent/guardian must come into the main office to sign you IN/ OUT • After the school day, immediately get on your bus. • Car riders should go straight to car pick-up area. • Walkers should go directly home • No hanging around… • Be under adult supervision (HOST, Sports, ELP) • • • • DON’T COME TO SCHOOL BEFORE 8:30AM Available mornings from 7:00- 8:30 Afternoons from 4:15- 6 Any student here after 4:30 must report to HOST. Your parent must pay for you to be there • Afternoons are in room 501 • Students will play games, receive homework assistance, and tutoring if needed • All school rules apply during HOST! • Available to any student that desires or requires a more private setting. • See your counselor or AP to request. Sports • • • • Fall- Basketball Late Fall- Track Early Spring- Soccer Late Spring- Football/Volleyball • Questions see Coach Bess CLUBS • Club Days will begin in September • Watch + listen for announcements Breakfast • All Greco students are provided with a free breakfast. • All students are to go through the breakfast line in the morning. • If you do not want to eat breakfast still go through the line and place your unwanted food on the first table. • You may see something you want • When you are finish head to your holding area. • No hanging out! • Breakfast is important for SUCCESS MORNING LOCATIONS • STAY IN YOUR AREA….. 6th graders • Cafeteria patio 7th and 8th graders • Girls - Gym • Boys- Basketball Courts • Polos – 6th Grade Carolina blue, 7th Grade Navy blue, 8th Grade white or black • Pants/Skirts - Black, Khaki, Navy • No open toed shoes (including slides) • Belts must be worn • • • • No Uniforms Can’t Earn OR Spend Cub Bucks No Field Trips Thursday is Greco shirt day - Jeans can be worn Thursdays but only with a Greco spirit shirt. • Dress out = Good Hygiene • Dress back in = Good Hygiene • Everyone is expected to dress out. • If you need to purchase PE uniforms ask one of the PE coaches • 8th graders will be able to start purchasing lockers next week from their homeroom teachers. • Cost is $4 if you return your lock at the end of the year you will be refunded $2 • Lockers are a privilege not a right • Do not be tardy because you are playing at your locker • Do not share lockers Sexual Harassment • Will not be tolerated • Offensive jokes, comments, teasing, name-calling or touching. • Tell your teacher, AP, counselor, school officer or principal • There should be no tardiness. You have 4 minutes to move from class to class (use the restroom at this time). • Always walk and stay on the righthand side • Report straight to ISS on day you are to serve (do not go to your classes, you will be pulled out and earn more days) • Must be in uniform • You will follow the rules of ISS • You will complete all work assigned to you • Failure to do so will result in further discipline (ATOSS) Behavior in the Halls • • • • Move to your next class quickly and quietly Stay on the right side Do not run Do not congregate in front of classrooms Clinic • Must have pass to go to clinic • You are not to come on your own • Only come if it is an emergency or you are instructed to be there to take medication Hall Passes • If you are going to leave the class you must sign out • If you are using the bathroom you only need a lanyard • Lanyards must be worn and you must be in the proper area • If you are going to be out of area (student affairs, clinic, media center) you must have a signed pass from your teacher and lanyard • Remember, anytime you are in the hallway you must have a lanyard 10/10 • Students are not allowed to leave class during the first 10 or last 10 minutes of class. • To ensure you are successful in school, it is important to make sure you are here everyday.
