We have had a very busy few weeks and it has been lovely to see so many of you at the various events. School Production The school production was a very successful whole school event this year. The children enjoyed performing and singing in the production of Alice and were greatly supported by you. Thank you for supporting us in enabling your children to take part in the evening performances. Sports Day I have received many positive comments about holding our Sports Day on two separate mornings. It was great to see so many parents, families and friends enjoying the events and supporting the children. I think the children did amazingly well on Monday in the hot summer sun. Congratulations to everyone who took part. PTFA A big thank you to Claire White and the PTFA for all the fantastic work that has taken place this year to enable families to get to know each other and raise funds for our school. The children in our school are fortunate to take part in and enjoy so many extra exciting activities and experiences through the support and work of the PTFA. Thank you to all our school community for supporting and helping in the recent school Summer Fair and Charmouth Challenge. Maria Fox did a huge amount of work in organising the Charmouth Challenge and Fun Run. A big thank you to Maria and to those who helped make the event such a success. E-Safety Please find attached some important information about keeping your children safe on-line this summer. Charmouth Gardeners Annual Village Show Children’s Classes The annual show will take place on Saturday 13th August. The organisers of the event would very much welcome children’s entries from our school. If you are interested in submitting some work, please could all entries be submitted by Wednesday 10th August. An entry form is attached with all the details of the competitions. New Starfish Parents Meeting We would like to invite you to an informal meeting on Friday 2nd September 2016 to discuss any queries or issues regarding the start of your child's first school year. The meeting will be between 2-3pm and care will be provided for your new Starfish if you require it. This meeting will take place on one of our Staff Training days. Year 1 Starfish Year 1 Starfish will use the same route as Year 1 Jellyfish for coming to and leaving school each day. Pick up time will be 3:25pm with the rest of Year 1, once again on the right hand side of the school building. Year 6 We wish all the children in Year 6 every success for the future. We hope that they will settle well in Woodroffe and enjoy the next phase of their education. The children have been very busy over the last few weeks preparing and performing in our summer production, cooking, preparing and hosting a Thank You coffee morning and putting together a Leavers’ Assembly. Best wishes from all your friends at Charmouth Primary School. Hoodies The children in Year 6 have been presented with a hoodie or a gift voucher to mark the end of their primary school days. The PTFA has generously donated funds to purchase these gifts. Thank you! Mrs Case Mrs Case is leaving today to take up a position of Support Services Manger at Mountjoy School. We wish Mrs Case all the best in her new role and thank her for all the fantastic work that she has done for our school. She will be greatly missed. An advert for Mrs Case’s replacement will be on Dorset For You during the summer holidays. Clubs A new list of Clubs provision will be published at the start of the autumn term. After School Care Due to a very low response for After School Care, we are not yet in a position to start this provision. If there is more interest in the future, the school will reconsider implementing it. In the meantime, please let me know if you have an interest in this care.
