Local Bar to Read Declaration of Independence

Local Bar, Sheriff to Read Declaration of Independence
July 1, 2013
Members of the Gainesville-Northeastern Circuit Bar Association and Hall County Sheriff Gerald Couch
will mark Independence Day by reading aloud the Declaration of Independence at Kenyon Plaza on
Wednesday, July 3.
The reading begins at approximately 11:45 a.m. in Kenyon Plaza, the public space outside the Hall
County Courthouse, which is named in honor of the late Hall County Superior Court Judge A.R. Kenyon.
A color guard will also be provided by the Sons of the American Revolution.
Public readings of the Declaration of Independence began as a grass-roots effort by attorneys across the
country several years ago. This is the second year members of the Gainesville-Northeastern Circuit Bar
Association have participated.
The general public is encouraged to attend the reading.
