Every year jurors from all over
Europe come to the

know about them? This year
you will get to know six of the
jurors.
Today, the Polish juror

MACIEK ZIEMEK
th
Born: April 4 1973 in Wroclaw.
Lives: Apartment in Wroclaw.
Family: Married to Kasia and
Koks - our 7-years-old dog.
Working for: Freelance since
2013.
Journalist life: I joined editorial
staff of „auto motor und sport,”
polish edition magazine in 1995.
Four years later, I completed my
studies at the Mechanics
Department of Technical
University of Wroclaw, becoming
Master of Science and engineer
in Vehicle Construction and
Mechanics.
Thanks to my theoretical
knowledge and experience,
gained in the course of road
testing virtually every new car in
the last years, I have been put in
charge of the testing department
in „auto motor und sport” polish
edition magazine. From 2011 to
2013, I was acting as editor-inchief of this magazine too.
I left editorial staff of „auto
motor und sport” polish edition
magazine in 2013, becoming one
of the first freelance automotive
journalists in Poland.
Cars mean to me not only part
of my education and majority of
professional work, but also
passion, especially in the form of
motorsport. During 2000 season,
as co-driver, I competed in
Polish Rally Championship.
From 2008 I have taken part in
some racing series at European
racetracks as a racing driver as
well. I have participated as a
spectator in many World Rally
Championship events – from
Mexico, through Europe, to New
Zealand. This is my favorite way
of discovering the world.
Motoring journalist since:
1995.
59 cars to drive
26 of 35 possible candidates are represented
here in Tannis. If we count all the different model
versions, the total number of test cars is 59. The
first cars arrived Thursday and the last one
arrived exactly at midnight just in time to be
ready for the first test drives of today.
Private car: Subaru Impreza STi
Type RA V6 Limited from 1999
with no ESP, no GPS, no ABS –
only very light chassis, four
wheels, engine, steering wheel
and beautiful sound.
Best car driven: Always my own
one.
Worst car driven: Landwind X6,
because of… terrible smell of
Chinese trainers.
Years in Tannis: 15
Best of Tannis: People and
cars, cars and people.
Coming back next year?: Is it
possible not to come?
Importance of COTY: We
should try to make it stronger
and stronger.
Car of the Year 2017: Small,
practical, cheap.
My favorite for Car of the Year
2017: As above.
