“Think before you speak. You might need to remember what you said.”
We continue to enjoy the benefits of a Trustee Self-Management Board and thank you for your
continued support. The good news is that there will only be a minimal condo fee increase in 2011.
This was accomplished with your help and we thank all of you who are contributing to reduce operating costs.
The grounds are beautifully maintained and festively decorated for the holiday season. There
are many reasons to feel the joy and merriment of the season and to take the time to celebrate with our
friends, families, and neighbors. It is also important to remember that this may also be a time of sadness
and mourning for some grieving a lost one. Our hearts go out to each and every one of you.

Doomsday Postponed: Mayan Calendar May Be Wrong
Author: Mac Slavo - October 20th, 2010
It looks like those preparing for the end of the world on December 21, 2012 may have some more time to get
ready. According to a new report, the conversion from the Mayan calendar to the Gregorian calendar may have
been conducted improperly, leading to a potential multi-decade miscalculation.

No cutoff age
The Mayo Clinic says there is no "cutoff age" for donating organs. Whether your organs will be useful is determined by other medical factors, but not by age.
Donor health
According to the U.S. government's organ donor website, overall health is more important than age when it
comes to organ donation. Even those with illness or certain medical conditions may be suitable donors in some
cases.
Transplants from seniors
Successful transplants have been made with organs from people of all ages, from babies to seniors. When a donation opportunity arises, doctors will decide if your organs are suitable.
Cost
Money should not be a factor in deciding whether to be an organ donor, because there is no cost to the donor or
his family. The price of transplants is covered entirely by the organ recipient.
RECOGNIZING A STROKE
NOTE: “Recognizing a stroke” has been in the newsletter before but it is an important thing
to know. Your ability to recognize the symptoms may, some day, save someone’s life. Also,
there has been an addition to the list of symptoms, included below.
Thank God for the sense to remember these '3' steps, STR (the first three letters of
STROKE).
Ÿ Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of
awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when
people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.
Ÿ Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:
S
T
*Ask the individual to SMILE.
*Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (i.e. It is
sunny out today.)
R
*Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.
New Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your Tongue
NOTE: Another sign of a stroke is this: Ask the person to stick out
his tongue.. If the tongue is crooked, if it goes to one side or the
other, that is also an indication of a stroke.
If he or she has trouble with ANY
ONE of these tasks, call emergency
number immediately (911) and deHave you seen the new OCV
scribe the symptoms to the dispatcher.
