Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Crude Oil Pipeline Project BTC P/L Project Directorate 04.05.2005 Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Crude Oil Pipeline Project 2 / 30 04.05.2005 Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Crude Oil Pipeline Project 3 / 30 04.05.2005 Project Aim The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Crude Oil Pipeline is intended to transport crude oil produced in the Caspian Region and mainly in Azerbaijan through a pipeline from Baku to a new Marine Terminal in Ceyhan and therefrom to world markets via tankers. By this critical project, it is expected to construct a safe and secure, economical and environmentally sound transportation system for the exportation of crude oil to world markets. The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Crude Oil Pipeline Project is also a pioneer for new pipeline projects aimed at transporting regional hydrocarbons to world markets. 4 / 30 04.05.2005 BTC Pipeline Project - General Sponsor Group Partners and Participation Shares % Pay BP SOCAR UNOCAL STATOIL TPAO ITOCHU ENI(AGIP) TOTALFINAELF INPEX CONOCOPHILIPS DELTA-HESS 30.10 25.00 8.90 8.71 6.53 3.40 5.00 5.00 2.50 2.50 2.36 INPEX DELTA HESS KHAZAR LIMITED (08.10.2001) (12.06.2002) (17.09.2002) (21.10.2002) 5 / 30 04.05.2005 BTC Pipeline Project - General The Azeri and Georgian Sections of the Project are conducted by the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline Company (BTC Co.), established on 1st August 2002 and led by BP. Financing of the Project is secured for approximately 30% from stakeholders’ equity contribution through BTC Co. and for approximately 70 percent through the Project related Financing Agreements. 6 / 30 04.05.2005 BTC Pipeline Project - General BOTAŞ BTC P/L Project Directorate was established on 5th January 2000 to construct the 1.076 km long Turkish Section of the BTC Pipeline Project, comprised of a pipeline, four pump stations and marine terminal facilities. Within the framework of the Lump Sum Turnkey Agreement, BOTAŞ completed the Basic Engineering and Detailed Engineering Phases of the Project in 6 months and 15 months, respectively. The Land Acquisition and Construction Phase that constitutes the last phase of the Project was started on 10th September 2002. 7 / 30 04.05.2005 BTC Pipeline Project - General BOTAŞ is conducting the construction activities in compliance with international standards regarding Quality, Environment, and Health and Safety, within the frame of the ISO 9001 “Quality Management System”, ISO 14001 “Environmental Management System” and OHSAS 18001 “Occupational Health ans Safety Management System”. 8 / 30 04.05.2005 BTC System 9 / 30 04.05.2005 General Project Data Quantity Total Pipeline Length (m) Pipe Diameter (inch) Number of Pump Stations: 4 Main Pump Stations & 2 Intermediate Pigging Stations (unit) Number of Block Valve Stations (unit) Maximum Capacity 1,076,000 46 – 42 - 34 6 51 50 Milyon tons / year (1 milyon barrels / day) Total Excavation (approx. m3) 15,580,540 Total Backfilling (approx. m3) 8,313,622 Total Concrete (approx. m3) Total Manpower (man) 112,000 12,074 10 / 30 04.05.2005 Lot A Georgian Border – PT2 Length: 278 km (46”: 22 km, 42”: 256 km) 11 / 30 04.05.2005 Lot B PT2 (km 279) – PT4 (km 744) Length: 466 km (42”) 12 / 30 04.05.2005 Lot C PT4 (km 744) – Ceyhan Terminal Length: 332 km (42” : 212 km, 34” : 120 km) 13 / 30 04.05.2005 Pipeline Construction Data Quantity Total Line Pipe Length (m) Number of Total Line Pipe (unit) Tonnage of Total Line Pipe (approx. ton) 89,667 406,879 Earthmoving Equipment (Excavator, doozer, grader, JCB, etc.) (unit) 774 Pipeline Equipment (Sideboom, bending machine, paywelder etc.) (unit) 846 Rolling Equipment (Low bed trailer, vibration roller, pipe trailer, etc.) (unit) 671 Total Manpower (man) 14 / 30 1,082,171 Approximate Total Manpower (man/hour) 6,922 26,318,123 04.05.2005 Pipeline Construction Data Quantity Total Excavation (approx. m3) (Topsoil Removal+Trenching) Total Topsoil Removal (approx. m3) (Incl.
