LET OUR HYDRAULIC LIFTS HANDLE THE PRESSURE
Introduction to the Elite Group of
Companies, represented by VWS Lifts
Elite Elevators Limited was formed in 1988 and in 1999 we divided
into three operating divisions under Elite Elevators Group Limited namely: Elite Elevators Installation Limited, Elite Elevators
Manufacturing Limited and Elite Elevators (Service) Limited.
The Group is a privately owned British Company, involved in all
areas of the lift industry, with "in-house" design and manufacturing
capabilities and has grown steadily over the years.
Our Head Office is based in Central London, as is our Factory,
which provides our Installation and Service Companies with most
of their needs, VWS Lifts in Tetbury provides sales advice/support.
We are members of The Lift and Escalator Industry Association
('LEIA') and have been assessed by Zurich Certification in respect
of their Quality Management Systems and have been found to
comply with BS EN ISO 9001:1994 and Lift Regulations 1997
Schedule 12.
Elite Elevators Installation/
Modernisation/Manufacturing
Elite Elevators Manufacturing operates from its own production
factory, based just 10 minutes from the City.
We use the latest hi-tech laser equipment, which enables us to
provide precision made components for all our customers'
requirements.
We manufacture "in-house" standard lift cars, as well as
stainless steel and panoramic wall climbers. We also
manufacture fire certified stainless steel lift doors and
architraves, glazed lift doors and architraves for all styles,
designs and sizes of entrances. all of which have 2 hr rated
fire certificates.
We manufacture and supply parts and equipment to other lift
companies and lift component suppliers.
Design & Technology
We carry out the design of all our lifts on a Computer Aided Design
system (CAD). We ensure that these designs comply with the
current European Standards and relevant Health and Safety
Executive policies/law. The equipment used is independently
sourced so that parts are available directly to the end user. Our
Design Department is also ISO 9001 and Regulation 12 accredited.
Elite Elevators Installation has its own "in-house" design team all
CAD based with "Lift Designer" and in-house JET-CAM fabrication
technology. This means we can provide design and build facilities
for new lift installations, also major and minor modernisation works.
We are constantly involved with design and build contracts, which
helps to ensure an up -to-date knowledge of customers' specific
requirements, and our design team attends ongoing external training
in order to keep abreast of the latest developments.
The Hydraulic lift system! The concept is well
established and the motor room can be Above, below, adjacent
or as for that matter 10 metres/15 metres/20 metres remote
from the shaft.
The Hydraulic lift is the answer to the
increasing demand economic, lo w rise and environmentally
conscious lifts.
The Hydraulic lift is Tested in compliance with
EN81 and any design certification required can be arranged by
us. As the unit is not type tested, you are not controlled by the
usual limitations offered by most others. Please contact us for
more information.
The Hydraulic lift offers a reliable, efficient and
cost-effective solution to architects, lift consultants and
builders, it offers a set of benefits for all types of modern
planning buildings especially where the height of an existing
or new building is not sufficient to accommodate a motor
room.

rise jobs!

SPECIALIST HYDRAULIC EQUIPMENT
Our preferred supplier of hydraulic equipment is GMV although we have used alternative equipment where
the alternative better suits the application or where an alternative has been specified.
GMV are one of the largest suppliers of hydraulic equipment within the lift industry, even major multinational lift organisation have realised the quality and reliability the GMV equipment offers.
There are too many variations of equipment available for different hydraulic lift application to detail here.
The equipment below shows some of the possibilities available. Please contact us with your specific re quirements and we will provide a solution that meets your specification at a economical cost.
TCS Telescopic Jack is commonly used in lifts with limited space which can be
introduced in narrow shafts: in 170 mm between shaft and car jack, chains and
fixings can be installed.
For these reasons and thanks to the mechanical synchronisation, TCS jack is employed in all passenger lifts commonly serving 3 and 4 floors. If is however, most
commonly used for goods or bed passenger lift applications.
TCS Telescopic Jack is supplied in 2 or 3 stages mechanically synchronised by
means of a chain which links the different stages.
TCS-2N model, equipped with an internal guide yoke, is used with lift up to 6
metres travel and does not require any external guide yoke. TCS-2Y and 3Y mo dels require an external guide yoke which is supplied as an option.
The jack is equipped with a traditional rupture valve or, alternatively, with a floe
limiter combined with a pawl device. This second solution presents some advantages in installations with more than two jacks.
Direct acting at the side telescopic jack enables a considerable reduction of the vertical space occupied in
the shaft and allows long travel installations with no need of a bore hole to locate the jack into.
This jack is a good alternative to the commonly used 2:1 arrangement where the additional
is achieved by the used of suspension ropes. The term 2:1 comes from the fact
that as the ram moves out of
the cylinder the lift will
travel twice the distance of
the ram, due to the rope configuration.
1 or 2 plates to fix the guide yokes van be supplied for the achievement of longer travels with a
load. The jack is equipped with an upper swivel plate for the assembling to the car frame.

Pawl Device is one of the safety devices options required to meet the European
hydraulic lift standards.
It performs two main functions;
•
•
It prevents the lift car from sinking in case of oil leakage or oil volume
variation.
It keeps the car steady in case of feeding pipe damage.
Due to this the main use of this equipment is on heavy goods lifts where the lift
car will more when being loaded / unloaded causing the lift to rise and fall.

SHAFT 3D SECTIONS
The above are typical examples of hydraulic lift layouts. As not every site / project has the luxury of being able to accommodate a standard lift arrangement, we have the ability and equally the willingness to adjust our product to suit
YOUR PARTICULAR REQUIREMENTS. Yes you tell us what you want / what space is available and if it is
physically possible we will design a lift unit to meet your requirements.
For example if the available shaft is narrow and the best option is the side acting arrangement the Ram & Cylinder
could be moved to the rear of the shaft with the cantilevered platform facing forward as opposed to sideways.
The internal dimensions of the lift car can also be altered to suit requirements / shaft dimensions.
For example, if the lift shaft depth is shallow, but is wider than generally required, the lift car internal dimensions /
configuration could be altered to suit. The only constraint would be the lift car floor area in relation to load / capacity
as laid down in Current Legislative requirements and EN81.
