Slide longer tube through webbing forward of cockpit. (white arrow)
Connect short tube with spring button. (black arrow) If the web loop
is too tight, remove perimeter cord from web loop.

Slide through tunnel in sea sock. Depress spring button.

Attach Web Strap with roller cleat

Threading Scuba Tank Buckle:
Thread 2” webbing through buckle as shown in
top left and top right. Pull webbing taut and hold with thumb (top right). Feed web through top of
buckle (bottom left) and then pull buckle down to tighten. Webbing is actually black.

Install Lee Boards
•
Air foil shape, wide edge faces forward.
•
Tighten clamp until lee board can be rotated
and stay in any position.

Install Akas and Amas

The Sailbag has been tied onto the aft deck.

Installing Amas:
top left: Pour about 250 ml (one cup) ballast water.
Top right: Remove one black ring from aka. Slide second ring past spring button. Slide aka
tube through ama. Bottom left: Re-install both black rings. Bottom Right: Each ama has 2 air
chambers. Pump about 20 full strokes into both chambers. Caution: do not overfill, vent if
temperature increases.

• Setting Up The Jib

Tie Bow Loop with carbine hook to
bow. (white cord) Attach with
shockcord aft of cockpit.
Sheet from Mainsail runs through
Roller Cleat (teeth facing aft)
Tie black plastic Cord Cleat
beside cockpit. Teeth facing aft.
Also tie a Cord Cleat on either
side of the deck just aft of the
cockpit.

Raise Jib
•
Feed a sheet tied onto clew of sail to star.

Attach Tack (marked T on sail)
to Bow Loop carbine hook. Haul forward
and cleat.
Attach Head of sail (H) to Halyard on Mast
and raise Jib.

Raising the Spinnaker
Connect the head of the sail to the Mast
Halyard and raise the sail.
Caution:
Same as Jib: max. 12 knot
winds!

Stowing Sail on Mast

Lower Sail and cleat Halyard.

Uncleat Vang and Out Haul.
•
Raise up aft end of boom and tie around mast.
•
Attach Sail Cover around mast and sail.

Slide short tube through web loop (left arrow) Slide longer tube through two loops
and connect to short tube with spring button. (right arrow) If the web loop is too

Install Mast Support Tube
Slide through tunnel in sea sock. Depress spring button.
Mast Mount
•
Attach Web Strap with roller cleat between gunwales.
Thread buckle. Teeth on cleat (for Mainsail Sheet) face forward.

Attach Mast Mount to Aka Mount
Slide over Mast Support Tube.
Depress spring button.

Mounting Sail Rig on Kahuna
•
We recommend mounting the sail rig on
the foredeck. The aft deck is not long
enough to support the Mast and Sail
Storage Bag.
•
Slide the long Gunwale Support Bar
forward through web loop (arrow) and then
aft through web loop.
•
Slide the short Gunwale Support Bar aft
through the web loop (arrow) and then join
with the long Gunwale Support Bar.
•
Setting up the Mast and Sail is
done in the same way as for the
K1 forward mount.
