Mario runs a small coffee shop. Every day he serves
breakfast and lunch. It is important for Mario to know about
time and measuring things.

He takes the bread out at 8:47 A.M. Find how long it
took for the bread to bake. Use the number line to
solve the problem.
2. Mario buys a rack to hold his measuring spoons. The
rack holds spoons that are up to 4 ½ inches long. Use a
ruler to decide if this spoon will fit. Explain your answer.
3. Mario uses this pitcher to serve juice. He serves this
bread.
4. Mario fills the pitcher above with juice 7 times during
the day.
a. How many liters of juice does Mario serve? Write an
equation to solve.
b. Mario fills the pitcher above with juice. Then he pours all
of the juice into 3 smaller pitchers. Each small pitcher
does not need to hold the same amount of juice. How
much juice could each of the smaller pitchers hold?
5. Mario has a sack with 298 grams of flour in it. He uses 139
grams to make pies. Write an equation to show how much
flour is left.

Summer at the Petting Zoo
Aisha helps out at a petting zoo over the summer. She
makes some changes where the animals are kept. Solve the
problems below using what you know about measurement.
