Year 11 English Intervention Sessions
Mr P Rowe M.A.
Executive Headteacher
Dear Parents and Carers
As you will be well aware, exams are fast approaching and it is vital that your child
is now revising regularly.

Every Tuesday from 15:00 – 16:00 we will be running targeted intervention
sessions. We would like to invite your child to attend these so they can receive
additional help with their language and literature GCSEs. Attached to this letter is a
copy of the schedule for each week.

In addition, we are now encouraging all students to begin revising at home. Little
and often is our message to our students and we would expect them to be doing at
least an hours revision a week, broken down into 15 minute chunks.
If your child says that they are unsure where to start, please use this link:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B8CNjVgVze5JZHNscXo1RHJiVGM
You will find folders for each topic, full of PowerPoints and other useful revision
resources.
Below are a few revision ideas to get them started:
1. Write a summary of ‘Frankenstein’/’A Christmas Carol’, ‘Romeo and
Juliet’ or ‘An Inspector Calls’’.
2. Make a poster on their chosen topic or poem.
3. Create revision cards
4. Have a go at a past paper. Use the mark schemes to mark each
other/yourself.
Kind Regards,
Miss N Jellis
Acting Head of English
