2015-16 Season
If you are looking for a winter adventure and a learning
experience that your kids will really enjoy, Ski Cooper’s Ski
& Ride School has it! Our new multi- week “Grizzly Bears”
program offers a great experience that promotes social
growth, team building and a lifelong love for winter sports.
Whom This Program is for:
Grizzly Bears is designed for those kids 6 to 12, who at a minimum already enjoy skiing on GREEN RUNS at
Level III.
Level Three Skiers: Level Three Skiers are riding the Magic Carpet lift, the Poma Lift and maybe even a
chair. They are confident novices who are able to stop and make round wedge turns on beginner trails.
Skiers at Level Three should be learning how to properly do a “Wedge Christie”.
That means that your child has at a minimum has learned to ski GREEN RUNS under full control, make round
turns unassisted and ski with continuous motion down the slope without stopping every four or five turns.
On the morning of the first day there will be a skiing assessment of all participants made by coaches. If your
child is not quite at the Level III Green Runs level yet, we recommend that you enroll him/her in our long
standing and popular PANDA program for lessons. With our PANDA coaches’ professional instruction, your
child should be ready to enroll in the Grizzly Bear program next season.
Once the skiing assessment is completed, kids will be broken up into groups by age and ability levels. They
will be assigned a coach, who will ski with that group for the duration of the program.
What Is This Program About?
It’s about skiing the mountain while helping give your children a clear path to meeting their goals and
achieving successes. They will perfect basic skiing skills and be able to ski with independence and confidence.
Learning how to be safe in our alpine environment is very important for young children. Most of all, they will
have a lot of fun while skiing with the same coach and group of kids each day, all day for the duration of the
program.
When Is This Program Offered for the 2015-16 Season?
Saturdays Only: January 16, 23, 30 - February 6, 13, 27. 9:15am - 2:30pm
What is the Cost of Grizzly Bears?
The cost is $310 per child and lunch is included. Lift access and equipment (if needed) are additional.
Daily Schedule:
9:15 – Groups form at Children’s Center Meeting Place
9:30 – Groups leave Meeting Place
Noon – 1:00 – Supervised Lunch with Coach (Lunch is included in the price of the program)
2:15 – Groups return to Meeting Place
2:30 – Kids ready for pick-up
