Learning Experiences
During ‘Hook Day’, Year 5 will learn about the process
of mummification through mummifying tomatoes! We
have also invited in a theatre company to perform
‘The Curse of the Mummy’. During this interactive
performance, the children will join Professor Pinkerton
and his team of expert Egyptologists in the London
Museum of Egyptology, where the world famous
Amulet of Tutankhamun is on display for the first time.
We hope to ‘hook’ them into the topic as they begin
to unravel the ‘Curse of the Mummy’ before it is too
late...

The children will also be transported to the ancient
civilisations from Ancient Egypt and become
archaeologists by discovering ancient artefacts. From
their findings, the children will then use clay to create
the chosen ancient artefact they have discovered.

Having learnt about Ancient Egyptian civilisations, children will become
Egyptologists and transport you back to Ancient Egypt. The children will
present their discoveries to you in an interactive museum.
The outcome will take place during week 7 of this term
(Monday 13th February) but more information will be sent out to you nearer
the time.
Any Home Learning activities can be brought in throughout the topic and will
be displayed in classrooms or in the shared area. We will be sharing Home
Learning as classes in the last week of the half term.
