What subjects are you studying in the Leaving Cert that would help prepare you for this career?
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) subjects are at the heart of a wide variety of jobs
and professions, all of which are founded on essential problem solving skills. In the real world, problems
pop up all the time, and being trained to handle them quickly and efficiently is what employers want.
The Leaving Certificate offers a variety of subjects designed to develop these problem solving skills for
careers in a range of STEM disciplines.

solving skills which everyone should have.
Below is a list of the main career sectors where STEM skills
are most required. Beside them, write which two Leaving
Certificate subjects would be most relevant to that sector. Are
there more than two? Discuss your answers with your class.
