LAMBS: Another entry of quality lambs certainly not meeting the prices deserved. The best to a pen of 44.2kg Texel X’s
from Messrs H & M Thorne & Sons of Warkleigh at 146.00ppk with 145.00ppk three times, first to 45.1kg Suffolk
Charollais’ from Mr J Cowle of Winkleigh and to two Texel X pens at 42.8kg for Mr D Folland of Landkey and
Mrs S M Madddick of East Anstey. Four pens at 144.00ppk to 46.8kg, 45.7kg, and 44.0kg Texels from Mr A J Pickard of
Bideford, Messrs G W Jones & Sons of South Molton and Mr N J Sharland of Braunton respectively and 50.5kg Suffolks
from Mr B J Tapp of Molland.

PLEASE NOTE ALL Thursdays of the month will be EXEMPT MARKETS For Prime Stock and Cull Cows that have or have not been prior TB Tested.
These Cattle will only be able to go to an Abattoir, an Approved T.B. Unit, an Exempt Finishing Unit or back to The Premises of Origin. Cattle born on
the 1st January 1998 and younger MUST BE DOUBLE TAGGED written on tags are NOT acceptable
PRIME, STORE AND CULL SHEEP with periodical sales of Couples and Breeding Stock. ALL sheep will need to travel with a completed AML 1 Sheep
Licence with Section C – Destination Details entered as South Molton Market. There will be increasing attention given to suitability of livestock to travel
(with the introduction of E.C Regulation 1/2005 – Welfare of Animals during Transport Act) and especially to lameness and we ask that you ensure that
all stock being presented to the Market is fit and healthy and able to travel.
For Farm Assured Stock please ensure your Assurance Sticker is placed on the STAGS Entry Sheets and make sure the booking in clerk is aware of
your Current Farm Assurance Status. As from 1st January 2010 Vendors will have to sign the new FOOD CHAIN INFORMATION DOCUMENT to
enable stock to go for slaughter. This declaration is included in the new STAGS entry forms with a farm assurance section for Sheep and Cattle
(available in the market office) or ring and we will send you on some by post. NO STOCK CAN GO FOR SLAUGHTER or sold as assured stock without
this signed document.
BIO-SECURITY REQUIREMENTS MUST BE OBSERVED Market users must dip their feet upon entering and leaving the stock areas. Protective
clothing and footwear must be cleaned before leaving the premises. All vehicles must either be cleaned and disinfected on the Market site or a signed
declaration must be handed to staff declaring that the vehicle will be cleaned and disinfected within 24 hours after leaving the Market premises.
