Hello Everyone
I can’t wait to tell the teachers and children in Beijing all about our school. I am so proud of all the hard work
each and every one of our children has put in this year. I had an emotional moment in the middle of SATs this
week when it was evident just how far the children have moved since I joined them in September 2012.
If you have read Tuesday’s Heads up blog, I hope you will have realised just what your children mean to us.
It’s not about facts and figures, it’s about watching them grow as people into young adults ready to move on to
their next steps in their lives, and making sure we have nurtured their passions and independence so that they
are equipped to deal with whatever life offers them, taking a whole bunch of memories made with them.
We can’t wait to spend the next half term with all of them preparing them for their next classes as well as
making sure they really enjoy their final half term with their current teacher.
Open Evening May 21st
Don’t forget to come and join in. The Usborne Book fair starts at 3:30 and the Open Evening is a drop
in between 4:30-6:30pm. If your child is participating, please drop them off at the entrance and
collect them from their classroom outer door.
Eagles
Thankyou for your comments from the Captain's Logs:
'My child has really been working hard recently. She doesn't
always find it easy but gives it her all. I am very proud of how she has
worked on her confidence.'
'Fabulous work, some great informative writing.
Keep up the great work.'
In Eagles, as well as preparing for our end of year assessments in English and Maths, we have been

Pre School Visit
We had a very enjoyable afternoon on Tuesday when staff and children from pre-school came to see
us. I struggled to get Mr Pearce out of the sandpit! Miss Barnett and the owls loved meeting everyone

and Miss Barnett is looking forward to meeting some of the children and their families more often
over this term ready for joining her class in the Autumn term.
Note from Mrs Chapman…
I would like to say how marvellous the year 2 children have been in the last two weeks. I am very
proud of their super attitudes and effort towards their SATs work. They can all hold
their heads up high and say they have tried their best. We have some writing
tasks to do next week.
A polite reminder -- children must be supervised in
the playground in the mornings between 8.30 and 8.40. Also, please remember that nobody should
go on the field after school, unless attending a pre arranged club.
Lost property has been building up like a modern art exhibit!!! Please ensure items are labelled with
your child's name. All items will be available outside and any unclaimed items will be disposed of next
Thursday, 21st.

VE Day celebrations
Please let us have these by next Wednesday so we can
sort our order out.
The children’s poetry contributions for our commemorations were absolutley stunning. All classes put a lot of thought
into these and we had an emotional shared assembly.
