A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT:
Have you ever wondered how you can make a difference?
# 1 - Through the organization of the Catholic Women’s League of
Canada you become part of an organization that is well-respected in our
country and throughout the world. The CWL meet annually with policy
makers in the Parliament of Canada. Resolutions passed at National
Conventions have often become law in Canada. Issues that impact our
families and our communities are brought to the attention of our representatives provincially and in Ottawa. Our world is changing and unless
we make our views known, laws will be passed that contradict our
Christian values and beliefs.
# 2 – When you become a member of Holy Family CWL, you join a sisterhood that supports and empowers women to reach their full potential.
Through hospitality, friendship, and prayer you become a member of a
community that provides faith-based opportunities to make you feel like
you belong.
# 3 – There is something for every woman in the league – you can offer
comfort to those who need your prayers, you can take an active role in the
creation of resolutions, you can improve your organizational and leadership
skills, you can entertain, you can bake or you can serve funeral lunches.
In other words, by sharing your gifts and you will be blessed with gracefilled moments. I challenge all the members of the Holy Family CWL to
renew their membership early, and better yet to invite at least one new
person to join the League. I invite women of all ages and all cultures to
consider becoming a member of the Holy Family CWL. By becoming a
CWL member you have increased our voice by one. There is power in
numbers!
Come to our first event of the season to enjoy the friendship and fellowship
our members provide. Join us on Tuesday September 15, beginning with
Mass at 7 PM followed by wine, cheese, entertainment by Friendly Folk
and so much more!
