KS2 New Curriculum Workshop
I would just like to say a big thank you to all the parents
who attended the new curriculum workshop on
Tuesday. The Key Stage 2 teachers were all in
attendance to answer questions about the new national
curriculum. I am certain that the parents who attended
found the workshop useful. This is a time of change for
primary education and we will do our best to keep you
up-to-date with all the changes to our school
curriculum. There will be further information about this at
our upcoming parents evenings too. Thanks again!

Please Send the Correct P.E. Kit!!
Our school P.E. kit is navy blue shorts and a white tshirt with either plimsolls or trainers which are
essential. We do P.E. every week and so it is vital every
child has some kit in school. It is not suitable for them
to do sports in their school shoes. Children can wear
their Forest Glade top and blue (if you can get them!),
black or grey ’tracky bottoms’ in the colder weather.
We want to look smart and be proud where ever we
have P.E. and or compete in a festival or competition.
We often have spare and donated kit if you feel you
would like some support with supplying your child with
the correct kit. Please come to reception or see another
staff member. Thank you.

Before and After School Supervision
The school gates open at 8.40am. There is only access
to school before this time if you use Breakfast Club.
Between 8.40am and 8.55am there will be one member
of staff on duty and this provides a minimum but
required level of supervision. The bell goes at 8.55am
and the children line up.
The morning times are not an organised play session
and parents with children on the playground will be
responsible for their Health and Safety. We would
request that the children don’t run around the
playground where there are many obstacles that they
are not familiar with eg: bags, prams etc.
At the end of the day the gate opens at 3.20pm. The
children leave school at 3.35pm where the Health and
Safety of the children becomes the responsibility of the
parents. At no time are children permitted to run in the
‘trim trial’ area (am or pm) and any children on the
equipment will be the responsibility of the parent
supervising. Thank you.

Important - School Admissions
You may be aware that parents will soon be required to
apply for a school place for children who will be 5
between 1 September 2016 and 31st August 2017. It is
important that parents make realistic preferences and
apply on time.
So that you understand this properly, the authority
have arranged a series of free events across the county
to support parents in applying for a school place. These
events will give information about the admissions
process (not specific schools) to help parents make the
best use of available information, such as Admissions to
schools: Guide for parents and the school information.
Further details can be found on a poster in the
reception area. Please also see the Admissions page of
our website for links to information on Nottinghamshire
County Council admissions.
