Blackboard Discussion Groups Discussion Groups -- A discussion board is a general term for any online "bulletin board" where you can leave and expect to see responses to messages you have left. Or you can just read the board. The posted threads (comments, responses) can be viewed and responded to by the instructor and other students enrolled in the course using Blackboard Discussion Groups. *Login to Blackboard* Click on the positive sign to create a Discussion Board button for your students. Then, click on Create Took Link. Name: Type in Discussion Board Type: Choose from the drop down box Discussion Board. Be sure the Available to Users is checked. Then click, Submit. Click on Discussion Board button you have created. Click on Create Topic button. Note: Creating Topics can be organized around a subject or by class period. Enter a Name and a Description. It is also possible to attach files to the post. Check Topic Availability and Topic Setting before submitting. Note: You probably do not want to allow for. anonymous post. Click Submit to create the thread or click Save Draft to store a draft of the post If you need to edit your discussion, click on the double arrows and choose Edit. OR Click on the Topic you created to start a Thread Click on the button Create Thread. Enter information you want for this thread. Most threads do well with open ended questions . . You have the option to add an attachment. When finished, click on . Submit. . your Thread question. Click on Click on Reply to respond to thread. . You are able to write your response in the message window, and then click on Submit. Students are now able to respond to various threads. Note: Students will not have a delete . option. .
