1 Concord, NH Concord is the capital of New Hampshire. Concord
is the site of the Franklin Pierce Manse which was
the home of Franklin Pierce (14th President of the
United States).

Mt Washington is the highest mountain in the

Northeast. It is part of the Presidential Range of
Washington
the White Mountains. Mt. Washington once held
the world record for directly measured wind speed
(231 mph). Mt. Washington now holds the record

Portsmouth is a historic seaport on the Atlantic
Ocean by the mouth of the Piscataqua River. The

The Connecticut Rivers serves as western
boundary of New Hampshire. It is the longest river
in New England being 410 miles long. Dartmouth
College is near the Connecticut River in Hanover.

Numerous cities were built along the Merrimack
River to take advantage of water power and ease
of transportation. Manchester is divided down the
middle by Merrimack River. It is the largest city in
New Hampshire with over 110,000 people (2012).
The Pennacook Indians called Manchester
Namoskeg meaning "good fishing place".
