chosen to describe Futura: a company already in
operation with the main resource of energy, the
Sun. In this way, everyone is able to produce the
energy they need.
We design and produce Photo-voltaic (PV) modules
and offer solutions for all types of PV systems:
from large-scale power generation to small offgrid systems. We strongly believe in the quality of
our products and we care about our customers,
to whom we guarantee expert and professional
service.
In the future, we believe, the SUN will be at the center
of our lives: both at home and at work, helping to
produce the electric power we need.
We will use electric cars and be able to recharge
them anywhere. A solar revolution will start to set
us free.

The selection of materials and the

Futura has developed
expertise in the materials
used in the production
of the PV modules and
is continuously seeking
improvements in the
components such as cells,
E.V.A., backsheet, ribbon,
junction boxes, aluminum
frames and glass.

CELLS
ENCAPSULANTS
The Silicon cells are at the
heart of our modules. The
selection of every cell is
based on rigorous testing
in order to guarantee the
greatest output under all
conditions. In fact, it is
essential to have a module
which produces energy even
on cloudy days or when the
temperatures is high. Some
of the additional parameters
that we test for include:
good shunt resistance,
excellent perimeter isolation
and efficient anti-reflection
treatment.
E.V.A. and backsheet are
used to protect the cells
and guarantee a long term
stable yield. They determine
the linear reduction of
the power output over
the lifetime of the panel.
Both these materials have
been constantly improving
and now we are able to
supply modules which
have extremely low water
vapour penetration. This
allows the natural decline
in performance to be kept
to a minimum. Our artificial
ageing tests show FuturaSun
modules lose less than 5%
output after 20 years.
JUNCTION BOX
Every experienced installer
knows that the most
delicate point of a PV
module is the junction
box. That is why, all the
elements of our junction
boxes - diodes, weld
joints, connectors, anticondensation valve - are
subjected to rigorous
controls. We guarantee that
every component is of the
highest quality making our
products extremely reliable.

FuturaSun means...
product guarantees
Certificates are important but they are
never enough: the more a module is
quality checked, the more secure the
customer feels.
All the Futura modules are
certified to international
standards IEC 61215, 617301, 61730-2 by independent
laboratories.
These standards involve
several tests including:
resistance against hail
impact, climatic chamber
test between -40 °C and +

85 °C, electric insulation
and connector resistance
tests.
Futura modules are
additionally certified to
various national standards
including MCS, UL1703, JET,
SOSA.
EL test
Unfortunately, international testing norms are not
always up to date and technical innovations may
take several years to be recognized. For example, the
electroluminescence (EL) test which is a kind of “X-ray”
of the module that confirms the mechanical integrity of
each cell and can show up problems which are impossible
to see with the naked eye. The EL test is not yet a
requirement for modules, however Futura runs tests the
EL on all its products, before and after the lamination.
Fire resistance class 1
The fire resistance class, in compliance with the Italian
standard requirements for the building materials,
represents a further guarantee of quality and a proof
of safety of Futura PV modules for other countries.
From 10 to 2,
but we prefer 12
In some countries, where a 10-year product guarantee
on PV modules is not compulsory for obtaining
incentivizing tariffs, some products offer only a
minimum 2-year guarantee. All our modules come with
a 12-year product guarantee and 25 year performance
warranty and we are constantly working to extend this
period further.
Further specific tests
Futura is in search of the highest quality all the time. For
this reason we run many further tests on our modules:
PID - potential induced degradation (to verify there is no
loss in power output because of high voltage), salt mist,
ammonia corrosion, sandstorms, extended insulation tests
at 60°C with 85% of humidity. These tests are not official
requirements, but we put our modules through them to
endure they are of the highest possible quality.

of our team: Futura is composed of experienced
technicians, engineers, designers and managers
who started their careers in the heart of the Italian
photovoltaic industry, in the Veneto region. From here,
they have built a strong network of contacts worldwide,
which enables Futura to be knowledgeable about
market changes, predict them and then guarantee our
customers the assistance they need.

Systems
We have no doubt that in order to last for many years,
a system needs reliable high-quality and certified
components. Futura technicians and sales staff have
the experience that is invaluable for finding partner
suppliers of compatible high-quality PV inverters and
mounting systems at competitive prices.
Technical assistance
The Futura team offers before-sales assistance
with the design process, in particular with off-grid
systems, as well as after-sales service. Moreover, we
can also supply customized panels for architectural
projects and specific technical applications and for
the replacement of the old modules that are no longer
produced.
Logistics
Logistics is one of the fields where Futura is investing
in heavily. This allows us to guarantee rapid and
punctual deliveries in every country.
Training
We strongly believe in the importance of having trained
installers: for this reason we offer refresher courses
and international cooperation projects which include
coaching and training activities for local installers.

In the future, we imagine the solar revolution
will continue to set us free.
Futura has chosen to focus on solar
energy because it is universal, clean and
inexhaustible.
These traits make it an ideal resource where other
energy sources are too expensive, out of reach or
damage the environment.
The off-grid systems and solar
lighting products that Futura
designs and produces meet these
requirements. In Europe they supply
electric power in places, where
access to the grid is not available,
such as campsites, mountain huts,
boats, etc.

In other developing countries, where
1.6 billion people do not have access
to light after sunset, our products
allow people to work, study and have
running water - in a cheap, ecologic
and safe way.
