INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING YOUR SECONDARY APPLICATION
TO THE LEBANON, OREGON CAMPUS
Please read all of the instructions carefully before beginning your on-line application.
Completion of the Secondary Application and receipt of all supporting documents is required prior to
consideration of your application. Applications not completed within 10 days will result in delayed
processing. It is your responsibility to ensure that all documents are received in a timely manner.
COMP – Lebanon, OR Secondary Application
You have applied to the COMP Lebanon, OR campus. If you applied to both campuses, you should submit a
secondary application to the Pomona, CA campus when requested to do so. We will complete your
application to both campuses and your application will receive an independent evaluation by both campuses.
Completing Your Application
We recommend that you review each section of the application before completing it and prepare your
answers to the essay questions in a word document and copy and paste them into the application. There are
1,650 characters/spaces available for each essay question. You will be able to print each section of the
application prior to submitting it; after submission you will not have access to your application. The
printed application will not reflect the entire essay question answer; therefore we recommend that you keep
your Word documents. If you need to edit a section after submitting it, please email the change to Enrollment
Data Services at [email protected] and the change will be added to your application. Please include your
legal name, login ID, and the program(s) you applied to.
General Information
When completing the secondary application, use the same version of the name that you used to file the
AACOMAS application. Please do not use nicknames or shortened version of your legal name.
Secondary Application Fee
The secondary application processing fee is $65.00. At this time we are not able to offer fee waivers. The
application fee must be paid by credit card at the time you submit your application. However, if you
received a fee waiver from AACOMAS and want a refund of the fee, please contact Enrollment Data
Services at [email protected] to request a refund of the application fee. Fee waivers will be granted only
to those who are eligible for a fee waiver from AACOMAS.
MCAT Test Scores
We will accept MCAT scores taken between January 2013 and January 2017. However scores from the
January 2017 test will delay consideration of your application which may result in not being considered for
the DO2021 class.
WICHE Scholarships
Students living in selected states have the opportunity to apply for scholarships that may total up to 50% pf
COMP’s annual tuition. The Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) Professional
Student Exchange Program (PSEP) enables students in 15 western states to enroll in selected out-of-state
professional programs. Students who are approved for the scholarship for their first year of medical school
may be given priority over students who apply for the scholarship in subsequent years. For details on
available scholarships, participating states and application, contact your state WICHE office or visit their
website at www.wiche.edu/sep. The application deadline is October 1st annually.
Letters of Recommendation
Only one set of letters of recommendation is necessary if you applied to both campuses. If you applied to
other WesternU programs, you will need to provide separate letters of recommendation for each program.
All letters of recommendation should be sent by your recommender to the Pomona, CA campus attention
Enrollment Data Services Office at 309 E. Second Street, Pomona, CA 91766. Letters of recommendation
given to you for posting or delivery must be signed over the seal by your recommender in order to be
considered. Letters of recommendation posted to VirtualEvals or Interfolio should be designated for
Western University/College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP) Pomona. Letters may also
be submitted to AACOMAS. All letters of recommendation must be on university or professional
letterhead with a signature. They will be posted to your Pomona and/or Lebanon campus application
within 10 business days. There may also be a delay in posting to our account by VirtualEvals or Interfolio.
Recommendation letters may be obtained from undergraduate, graduate, or professional school professors
who instructed you in the prerequisite science coursework. We will accept a copy only if it is a part of a
packet that is posted by the Pre-health Professions Advising Office on your campus to Interfolio,
VirtualEvals, or AACOMAS. We recommend that you have your letters electronically submitted as this will
shorten processing time. The Admissions Committee reserves the right to request additional letters of
recommendation.
We will not accept letters of recommendation from family members due to a conflict of interest. We
also strongly prefer that your recommendations be from people who have worked with you
independent of family connections and have gained a good sense of your character outside of family
influences and ties.
