(November 3rd /Term 1)
This Week in Grade 2
This week in grade to we started ‘Talk for writing’ we have had so much fun doing actions
and reciting the story called The Lonely Alien. We also learnt about verbs and how to use
them when we tell or write a story. The girls can now tell you the whole story all on their
own. Why don’t you ask them?
Next week in English
Next week in Mathematics
We will continue with ‘talk for writing’, as we
‘box up the text’ and create our own story. We
will also start learning how to write a nonchronological report about space. What’s that?
Think addition to subtract quickly and
accurately.
Well as explained before a non-chronological report is
a non-fiction report which is not written in time order,
but don’t you worry we will be learning all about this
together.
Next week in Social Studies
We will continue working with maps and will learn
all about the UAE and the 7 Emirates.
We will also take a look at where the other Arabic
countries are located and who our neighbours are.
We will be practicing addition and
subtraction with double digits. We will find
new methods to add and subtract bigger
numbers.
Next week in Science
Matter, Matter, Matter!
We will continue with how Matter can be changed.
Next week's lessons will focus on:
1. Investigate how to mix and separate matter and
water mixtures.
2. We will look at disassembling an object made of
small set of pieces and reassemble it into a new
object.
