Make sure the objec1ve lens is set to its lowest magnifica1on (usually 4x), and hit the power switch to turn the light on. 2. Place your slide on the stage under the stage clips so that light is coming through the specimen. 3. If necessary, carefully move the slide un1l your specimen comes into view. 6 Easy Steps to Using a Microscope! 4. Adjust the coarse adjustment knob un1l the image looks somewhat blurry. Then use the fine adjustment knob un1l the image is sharp and focused to your eyes. Observe the specimen! 5. If you wish to increase magnificaLon, slowly turn the objecLve lens to the next highest magnificaLon (e.g. 4x to 10x, etc.). DO NOT MOVE THE SLIDE OR ADJUST THE FOCUS BEFORE YOU INCREASE MAGNIFICATION otherwise your image may disappear or it could result in damage to the slide and/or lens! Adjust the fine adjustment knob unLl the image is sharp and focused. Observe the specimen and noLce the difference in higher magnificaLon! 6.
