CREATIVE WORDS
We Are The Future
We are the future, for we have to stay
Life is too short, it will just sway
Clouds will burst, rain will fall
We can’t bang our head in the wall
We need to find what we seek
Feel the heat, make it sweet
See the possibilities; mould it with our abilities
We might just be teens
But we are the future Kings and Queens
For now let’s see
The School is our country, and we have
responsibilities
Let’s bring the best of what we have
And let nothing be left.

Raise a toast to lifeAnd cry-Ahoy!
Time is fleeting
So just Enjoy!

The Tale
Once upon a time there was a knight.
One day he found him in a fight,
He was not weak but had might
But still the spot was rather tight
For his enemies were not fair and did bite.
Well our hero was not short but had height
And over and above their heads, he saw a
sudden light,
And then he knew what’s right
For unlike others he had sight
And fought fair, but like a tiger, left and right.
And to all our delight
He slew his enemies before night.
So poetic justice got its victory
And thus ends my short silly story.
Mr. Saptarshi Majumder PGT English
Rules of Success
Challenges are high, dreams are new
World out there is waiting for you, dare to
dream, dare to try
No goal is too distant and no star is too high.
Success is never permanent, failure is never
final,
So don’t stop effort, until your victory makes a
history.
Past is waste paper, present is a new paper,
future is a question paper,
Life is an answer paper, so carefully read &
write.
A man’s character is the reality of himself; his
reputation is the opinion of others.
Character is the substance, reputation is its
shadow.

I just logged in to be the virtual me
To give status like "feeling lonely".
Updated my profile, tagging friends thirty three,
With the tag line ‘ITZZZ MEEE’.
Got a friend request from a cute girl
Her eyes shining blue and hairs curl,
Made my entry into her life by acting cool
Later got to know, he is a boy form my school.
Angels are only found in heaven,
And in FB I can find many like ‘angel raven’
Boys feel like they are the only hunk
With names like ‘YO YO PUNK’
Whenever I get a message, my heart skips a
beat
Thinking it’s a girl,
I feel like dancing with heads down
And above me, my feet.
I log in looking for love
If not love, then a bit of romance,
Thinking the virtual will be better than the real
But the actual is not virtual
It’s not tags and updates
But grit and determination
Is what I need
To differentiate, delusion and dream
Online FB is the place
To learn the addictive dance
It’s not the place
To scrounge for romance
To make my dreams
To make my moments
To make my timeline
To make my life
I logged out,
Getting into my real life
The life neither can I tag, nor can I share
But the life which I can live
Live by acts and deeds real
No time to tag, no time to share
For my timeline is mine
For my timeline I have to make

Beautiful blooming poetry

“An empowered woman is powerful beyond
measure and beautiful beyond descriptions.”
Women Empowerment is not a product of
revolution but of evolution. It is the process of
enhancing the so called victims of gender bias to
make choices and to transform those choices
into desired actions and outcomes in social,
political and scientific sectors. Women
Empowerment begun with attempts made for
emancipation of women and it was further
refined with the beginning of feminism. It was
the French revolution which for the first time in
the modern era spoke about equality. However,
that equality was denied to women as they
were denied the
right to vote.
After a long
battle women
got their right to
vote and that
was the first step towards women
empowerment. Women empowerment is
understood as a very narrow term in a
conservative world. But in reality women are
moving ahead enjoying greater emancipation,
and greater empowerment. More women are
getting out of their homes for jobs, living in
cities and metros alone, becoming aware of
their rights. Our Honorable HRD Minister Smt.
Smriti Zubin Irani is a woman and so is our
Page | 5
Foreign Minister Smt. Sushma Swaraj. There are
many like them and they are not sporadic
examples, not any exceptions, but spearheads
leading
the
movement
known
as
“empowerment”. To see empowerment we
need not look far beyond but we need to open
our eyes and look around us, in our home, in our
neighbourhood, and in our immediate vicinity.
To quote exemplary achievement of women in
various fields in the world around, Dilma
Rousseff, the President of Brazil; Christine
Lagarde, the Managing director of International
Monetary Fund, or be it Sheryl Sandberg, the
COO of Facebook, Virginia Rometty, the CEO of
IBM. There are hundreds and thousands of
women in the world who excel in various fields
and they are at the peak
of their career, shaping
and contributing to the
modern world. In India it
might be said that in
politics, the Iron Lady of India, Indira Gandhi, in
the field of sports, Saina Nehwal, the second
best badminton player in the world, in science
and technology Kalpana Chawla, the first Indian
ever to go to the cosmos, and many more.
Rural India is known for its rustic
beauty and for the cultural life
that amazes not just the
subcontinent but the entire
world. But there’s another side
to it-filled with stories of
oppression and neglect faced by women. So,
when unknown women from villages of India do
something that empowers the society in which
they live, it is not just a piece of information
worth spreading; it’s a happening that needs to
be celebrated.
The success story of Mrs. D. Jyothi Reddy from
Warangal in Hyderabad has a narrative arc that
pushes the limit of unbelievable. A rural
agricultural labourer whose pay was Rs.5 per
day till 1989, she is now the CEO of Keys
Software Solutions in USA, creating revenues in
the millions. Not forgetting where she came
from, she is actively involved in philanthropic
endeavours, serving rural India.
A Dalit by birth, Kalpana Saroj attempted suicide
at a tender age. She was married by her parents
when she was just 12. Physically abused by her
husband’s family, she was rescued from the
slums where she stayed with her husband.
Starting out working in a garment factory, she
later started a tailoring business and then a
furniture store, eventually joining the league of
successful Indian women entrepreneurs. The
nation honoured this amazing woman who was
born in Roperkheda village of Maharashtra with
the Padma Shri.
Lijjat is a highly popular pappad brand in India.
While many may remember the buck toothed
bunny that appeared in their TV commercials,
many may not be aware of the fact that it’s the
power of rural women and their selfemployment initiative, ‘Shri Mahila Griha
Udyog’ which made the brand possible. Started
with a loan of just Rs. 80, today the co-operative
has annual sales of more than Rs.3.1 billion.
Stories are a lot to be said,
what the main matter of
concern is, women have
come out of their homes
and actively participating in
reshaping the modern society. Our parliament
legislates our rights and duties. A bill regarding
33% reservation of seats for women in the
parliament is also an emphatic proof of women
empowerment.
Providing
reservation
does not prove that women are less empowered
but it proves a paradigm shift in the attitude of
men. That change in the mindset of men is
Women Empowerment.

Science of Time Travel
As everything stands in consonance with time,
there is no denying the importance of this
entity. What is time? According to Einstein, the
time is relative; this means that two different,
moving observers can perceive the length of a
period of time
between
the
same
events
differently. With
time theory, the
conceptual models of the special and the
general theory of relativity can be distinguished
from one another. The aforementioned timeperception model is assigned to the special
theory of relativity. The general theory of
relativity deals with accelerated systems and
defines gravitations as a curvature of space and
time. The curvature results from the existence
of masses. Physicists introduce current visions
of a time machine. To travel to a time in the
future, for example, we would have to move
with 99.9 cycle’s per centum of the speed of
light. The theory of relativity theoretically allows
travelling into the future. If an astronaut
journeys away from the earth “time traveller” in
a space vehicle at 99.99999 per cent of the
speed of light for one year and finally flies back
to earth at the same speed, his clock would run
more slowly in relation to a clock left back on
earth. Upon his return the astronaut would have
aged by two years due to the time dilation,
while 14,000 years would have passed on earth.
For the astronaut, this would mean that he, as
seen from his perspective, is landing on the
earth of the future. However, according to
Einstein, there is nobody that can move so fast.
The special theory of relativity and the curved
space time primarily show that time travel does
not work. For example, according to Stephen
Hawking, travelling into the past is the
thwarted, as the time paradox does not allow it.
Imagine the descendant of an assassin travels
into the past to the time before his birth in
order to liquidate his father and thus undo the
assassination. It would follow that the assassin
could not have fathered a son after being
eliminated from him and that no son may exist
who has killed his creator in the past. Therefore,
Hawking confirms the hypothesis of chronology
protector, which state that macroscopic bodies
that is larger than 0.01 mm, according to law of
nature, cannot carry information into the past.
However, according to Hawking ten year later,
time travel could theoretically be possible if
space time were curved so strongly that a time
jump may be performed.
In the future, black holes could be advantageous
to us. Only, it will be extremely difficult to tap
their immeasurable power. Black holes could
help us achieve is time travel. Most scientists
say that constructing a time machine is
impossible, but time travel is not against the law
of physics. The time is accorded with the gravity
which stronger gravity slows the time by the
relativity. Einstein’s theory of relativity is divided
into
special
and
general
relativity.
Special
relativity is based on the speed of light being
constant for everyone. That may seem simple
enough, but it has far-reaching consequences.
This result was surprising to physicists because
the speed most other things does depend on
what direction the observer is moving. If you
drive your car alongside a railroad track, a train
coming at you will seem to be moving much
faster than if you turned around and followed it
in the same direction.
Einstein said that all observers will measure the
speed of light to be 186,000 miles per second,
Page | 7
no matter how fast and what direction they are
moving.
Perhaps even weirder, time passage is slower
the faster one goes. If a twin speeds away from
earth in a speeding spaceship to some distant
star and then comes back, she will be younger
than her sister who stayed on earth.

STORY
Little Birdie Saved!!
When I was young, I lived in Kolkata. My daily
routine was to go to school in the morning, have
fun; well it wasn’t fun for me in the beginning,
but I got used to it. Took me long though, to
know how to have fun in the school, like almost
ten years! It’s an exaggeration, you get the idea.
Anyway, one day when I was going to school
with my dad in my most favoured vehicle at that
time, our scooter, a tiny bird came in front of
our scooter out of nowhere. Dad was like, “Oh!
That poor bird, sorry birdie.” Dad kept the speed
constant, and I was looking back to have a
proper look at the bird. I wanted to know if it
was hurt or it had gone to the highest level of
height, a living being could reach, the zenith;
that is the afterlife in heaven. I felt pity for that
bird. After a couple of minutes, I reached school.
Waved goodbye to my dad and in return, I
received a sloppy kiss. Still I kissed him back and
ran to my classroom as fast as I could to tell my
friends about
the
‘Bird
incident.’
I
climbed
up
the stairs and
ran straight to
my classroom
which was the
first room to
the left. I saw that the classroom door was ajar,
and as always, I burst open the door. It was my
signature entry, I liked it since my friends didn’t
have the courage to kick the door and enter
sprinting and they also found my entry pretty
cool. I liked the attention from my friends but
not from my class teacher. My teacher would
hold my ear and escort me to my seat. It was
bearable. Well, I told my friends about the
incident. We planned to go to that exact place
after school. Since all of our dads had to go to
office regularly, we walked back home together
in a group. Mom said that it’s safe to walk in a
group. Finally after a tiring two minute walk, we
reached there. The bird was intact and still alive.
The bird’s wing was injured, so it was unable to
fly. I daintily picked up the bird and placed it
gently on the soft grass and we huddled around
it. We thought of ways to cure its wing but
couldn’t find any. After thirty minutes of hard
thinking, we came to a solution. It was funny
how we all said the same thing at the same
time. We all shouted, “Let’s build a bird
house!!” and then we were like, “Jinx!” and
then, “double jinx!” and finally we shouted,
“Shut up!” We all laughed and rolled on the
ground. Then the construction started. I was the
proud leader chosen to run the operation. I
yelled at everyone to collect twigs and a lot of
leaves! Fast guys! After the collection of twigs
and leaves was done, we rushed to my house
carrying the bird on top of the heap of grass we
collected. We reached my place, all of us
opened our shoes and ran to my room. We kept
the heap of grass along with the bird on the
ground. I asked mom for some seeds to feed the
bird, a small bowl of water, an old cloth which
could be used as a bandage for the bird’s wing,
some ointment and some food to feed our
stomachs. First we bandaged the bird’s wing
and then fed it. Then we worked on the bird
house. To be honest, it took us almost three
hours to do so. The bird house was completed
and looked pretty cool. We placed the bird
Page | 8
inside it. The roof of the bird house was made
with leaves and twigs and the walls and the base
was actually a cardboard shoe box. The four
pillars that held the roof were four scales. We
decided that we would keep it in my house on a
shelf in the balcony. My dad grumbled because
our house had turned into a guest house since
my friends always visited my place every
evening to feed our little friend. A fortnight
passed like this. Then one day things changed. It
was a Sunday. I woke up early to find the bird
missing from the bird house. Had it fallen out of
the bird house? Suddenly I heard a tiny “Cheep,
cheep”, it was the little bird perched on the
railing. I was ecstatic, the little birdie had
recovered! It then with a tiny heave flew away,
but sometimes it would come back as though to
say thank you.
Characters – Sindbad, a sailor; Rich Merchant,
father of Sindbad; Other Men, sailors; Large
Bird, Snakes, Eagle, Other Merchants etc.
Characters I liked most – I liked the character of
Sinbad because of his courage and wisdom. I
also liked the characters of the merchants who
helped Sindbad to get out of the island.
Plot – Sindbad was a sailor. One day when his
ship was caught in a storm and they reached an
unknown island. Sindbad went ashore and fell
asleep.
Many years have passed. Now I’m in Guwahati
and pretty happy with my friends, but I often
wonder whether my feathered Kolkata friend
still remembers and misses me; because I do.
