Executive Summary
Santa Rosa County District Schools are committed to creating a great place for students to learn, teachers to teach,
staff to work, and for parents to send their children to receive a great education. To build on this commitment, the
leadership of the school district gathers and analyzes data on four essential goals and measures: Employee
Engagement, Parent Satisfaction, Student Satisfaction, and Student Achievement. This journey of excellence based
on measurable goals began in 2010 and focuses on the use of data to identify gaps, take action, and follow through
to ensure continuous improvement in Santa Rosa County District Schools.
In spring 2016, students at all schools in the district had an opportunity to complete the Student Engagement survey
to share their perception of their school experience; data are aggregated and shared with each elementary school
leader and staff as well as district leaders. This report presents the results for the current survey administration.
A total of 16,152 students across the elementary school, middle schools and high school accessed the baseline
Student Engagement survey. The district’s overall mean rating is 4.27 on a scale of 1 to 5. Tables 1 and 2 below
show student participation by survey administration, in addition to the overall mean by school.
