CONGRATULATIONS TO SEPTEMBER WINNER Congratulations to September winner Chris Graham! His prize is a Daniel Steiger Alphagraph Watch. “As a recent college graduate and new Agent, I am more than thrilled to be working with such a great company. United American has been supportive and supplied me with all the tools I need to be successful. I am looking forward to my future with United American.” Chris Graham WORDS OF WISDOM “Starting strong is good. Finishing strong is epic.” ~Robin Sharma FROM THE: COACH’S CORNER Anyone who’s ever been in a football stadium as the scoreboard clock ticks down has felt the incredible energy that fills the air during the final moments of a close game. The crowd roars, players hustle, coaches run up and down the sidelines calling in plays — there’s nothing else like it. But I’d venture to say the last few weeks of AEP can come close, at least in sheer intensity, to those final football moments. Many of you know what it’s like to make a last big push, to hurdle over obstacles, and run up the score. AEP ends on Dec. 7. Are you starting to feel the rush? If so, use that momentum to drive your activity to a strong finish. COACH’S CALL While you’re out there working hard in the field, UA ‘coaches’ are pulling out all the stops to give you every scoring advantage. Most recently, we’ve made an unprecedented move to help you write new business and maintain high persistency late in the game. New ProCare HDF Policyholders with a policy effective date October 1, 2015 and after, will only be required to pay $780 in out-of-pocket expenses of the $2,180 annual deductible amount during the remainder of 2015 before policy benefits are payable by United American. How’s that for incentive? We’ve made the call, now it’s up to you to get out there and make the big plays. Another way UA offers sideline support is through our national advertising program. UA’s ads appear in some of the industry’s most esteemed and highly circulated publications – Broker’s World, National Underwriter, and California Broker, to name a few. Such ads not only help UA increase credibility and brand familiarity, but they also assist Agencies bring in new recruits. DIALING IN Of course, it’s not all on us here in the Home Office. You’ve got to seek out coaching when you need help. Visit UA General Agency Office online and dial into the fantastic training opportunities available to you. We’re always coming up with new topics to help improve your performance during AEP and all year long. Our newest addition to the UA webinar series is an instructional presentation on screen sharing and how you can use this technology to sell remotely. Director of e-Applications Dave Oliver makes the process look easy. For a sneak peek, check out pages eight and nine of this issue. Medicare Advantage plans beginning January 1, 2016, according to our latest statistics. 250,000! What an incredible opportunity you’ve been given. Step in and pick up the ball; show them how a UA ProCare Medicare Supplement Policy can fill their needs. As one of the greatest football coaches of all time, Tom Landry, once said: “A winner never stops trying.” Dave is a perfect example of the difference a great coach can make. For those of you who missed his memo on the seven common mistakes made when filing an application, we’ve shared them again in this issue. Don’t get tripped up by being careless when you’re barreling downfield. YOU’VE GOT THIS The best coaches motivate their teams to play harder, and give more when they don’t think they’ve got anything left. Technology provides sports analysis for coaches and trainers, tracks the stats and activities of our favorite players during the game, and sometimes has a direct impact on the final score (think instant replays). Technology can also be a game changer for your sales strategy. The technique UA uses is called screen sharing and it allows you to sell to individuals all over the country from the comfort of your home or office, using a practice known as ‘remote selling’. WE’VE GOT YOU COVERED While remote selling is nothing new, what is new is UA’s webinar ‘Remote Selling: Using Screen Sharing Effectively with our iGO e-App®’ presented by our Director of e-Applications, Dave Oliver. 8 November 2O15 COACH’S CALL In this live webinar Dave shows how easily you can use screen sharing to become successful giving presentations and closing sales. You’ll get tips on: yyMaking the appointment yyUsing the iGO e-App® yyScreen sharing programs such as GoToMeeting, Skype, Mikogo, join.me and Screenleap yyProjecting a professional image yyContent presentation yyImportant reminders on verifying state sales regulations and product permissions SCHEDULE Remote Selling: Using Screen Sharing Effectively with our iGO e-App® When: Every Friday (except Nov. 27) from now until Dec. 18, 2015. Time: 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Eastern 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Central 7 a.m. – 8 a.m. Pacific GET THE COMPETITIVE EDGE Remote selling saves time and money, and keeps down the mileage on your car. It’s the most efficient way to sell. Less time on the road leaves more time for prospecting, writing more business, and last but certainly not least … making more money! Many of your prospective and existing clients will also enjoy the convenience of remote selling and the ease of a ‘non-invasive’ appointment. MAXIMIZE YOUR OUTREACH With the capacity to screen share, referrals are no longer confined by your geographic location. You can serve your clients’ friends and family who live in other parts of the country (provided they also have the needed technology and you're licensed and appointed, if required in the state). For potential clients wanting to find an Agent through someone they trust, you’re just a mouse click away. DAVE OLIVER, DIRECTOR OF E-APPLICATIONS ON REMOTE SELLING: “ Our Agents can now do business with clients in any state without traveling. When I was an Agent, it would be nothing for me to drive an hour, two hours, three hours, or even sometimes more to do a single case, turn around, and come back. The gas money and the wear-and-tear of the vehicle is one thing. But the more important thing was the time aspect – that non-productive driving time, when I could have spent more time prospecting or could have spent doing more business. That’s what really cost me the money – that’s the intangible which is hard to see but is there. ” COACH’S CALL November 2O15 9 Jon Ahlbum The Ahlbum Insurance Group, Inc. $3,427,770 1 2 3 4 5 10 Mike Lemar Sunshine State Agency $1,448,913 William Borosak Jr. Secure Financial Group, LLC $1,287,878 Catherine Hatton Long Island Insurance Solutions $1,075,895 Edward Shackelford The Assurance Group, Inc. $978,287 PRESIDENT'S CLUB PACESETTERS CLUB Through October 2015, these top producing General Agents and Agencies have the highest net combined annualized premium.
