Serious Crime incidents reported across the country
KHOMAS REGION
WANAHEDA POLICE STATION: MURDER
On Thursday, 03 November 2016, during early morning hours, at Omuvapu Street,
Wanaheda Location, a 21 years old woman gave birth to a baby girl and stabbed the baby
with a sharp object on the back causing her death.
The woman thereafter went to Katutura State Hospital for treatment, were the medical
staffs discovered that she could have freshly delivered a baby and the Police was notified of
her condition.
Our short investigations lead us to the discovery of a lifeless body of a baby girl with a stab
wound on the back side of her neck at the woman`s bedroom.
The woman (suspect) is arrested and is currently admitted at Katutura State Hospital
under Police guard and will appear at Katutura Magistrate Court when she is discharged
from the Hospital.
We have opened a case of Murder against the suspect.
WANAHEDA POLICE STATION: ARMED ROBBERY
On Saturday, 05 November 2016, at about 03h00, at a Gambling House, at Omungwindi
Street, Ombili Location, six male suspects armed with a pistol broke into the gambling
house and stole cash money and recharge vouchers and five cellphones all together valued
at N$ 56 144-00 .
It is alleged that, the six suspects held two security guards that were guarding the premises
at gun point and tied them up before they broke into the gambling house and stole cash
money from the safe and recharge vouchers, and five cellphones, all together valued at N$
56 144-00.

All suspects are still at large, Police investigations into the matter continue.
HARDAP REGION
ARANOS POLICE STATION: RAPE
On Thursday, 03 November 2016, between 17h00 and 19h00, next to Aranos Action yard, a
10 years old girl was raped by a 24 years old man.
It is alleged that, the suspect lured the victim with a N$ 20-00 (twenty dollar note) and lead
her into the bushes were he assaulted the victim with fist and removed her clothing and
had sexual intercourse with the victim without her consent.
The suspect (N/Male, 24 years of age) is already arrested and is due to appear at Mariental
Magistrate Court on Monday, 07 November 2016.
STAMPRIET POLICE STATION: CULPABLE HOMICIDE
On Saturday, 05 November 2016, at about 18h00, on the main road between Stampriet and
Mariental, almost 2 Km before Stampriet, the driver of a white sedan vehicle who was alone
in his vehicle lost control of the vehicle and overturned, he died on the spot.
It is alleged that, the driver was overtaking another vehicle infront at a curve and lost
control and overturned, he was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The deceased was identified as Daniel Ambrosius Guibeb (N/Male, 47 years of age).
The next of kin are already formally informed, Police investigations into the matter
continue.
MARIENTAL POLICE STATION: RECKLESS AND OR NEGLIGENT DRIVING
On Sunday, 06 November 2016, between 00h00 and 01h00, on the main road between
Mariental and Gibeon, almost 50 Km from Mariental to Gibeon, the driver (N/Male, 26
year) of a white Golf sedan vehicle lost control and overturned.
There were two occupants in the vehicle, driver and another male passenger, also 26 years
of age, both sustained serious injuries and were admitted to Mariental State Hospital in a
serious condition.
Police investigations into the matter continue.

REHOBOTH POLICE STATION: MURDER
On Sunday, 06 November 2016, between 01h00 and 05h00, at Block B, at Rehoboth, a
lifeless body of a female person was found inside a building that is under construction.
The deceased was found with scratch marks on the face and neck, and our suspicion is that
the deceased could have been strangled to death.
The deceased was identified Camila Gabriela Stiyn (N/Female, 17 years of age).
The next of kin of the deceased are already formally informed.
No suspect has been arrested, Police investigations into the matter are continuing.
OTJOZONDJUPA REGION
OUTJO POLICE STATION : ATTEMPTED MURDER
On Saturday, 05 November 2016, at about 16h00, at Ehangano Informal Settlement,
Etoshapoort Area, Outjo, a 37 years old man was chopped with a Panga by a 44 years old
woman, alleged to be his girlfriend.
It is alleged that, the victim was asleep and the suspect just entered the victim`s room and
chopped the victim with a Panga several times on the head.
The victim was briefly treated at a local hospital and immediately transferred to Windhoek
Katutura Hospital in a serious condition.
The suspect (N/Female, 44 years of age) is arrested and is due to appear at Outjo
Magistrate Court on Monday, 07 November 2016.
The Police have confiscated the Panga used in the commission of the crime.
OTJIWARONGO POLICE STATION: MURDER AND ATTEMPTED MURDER
On Sunday, 06 November 2016, at about 02h30, at Orwetoveni Suburb, Otjiwarongo, a 42
years old man stabbed his younger brother and elder sister with a knife at their residence.
It is alleged that, the suspect and the victims were at their family home when an argument
erupted between them while they were drinking alcohol, which resulted in the suspect
stabbing both victims with a knife.

Both victims were rushed to Otjiwarongo State Hospital were the younger brother
succumbed to his injuries and died shortly, the elder sister (47 years) was admitted in a
stable condition.
The deceased was identified as Jesaya Namaseb (N/Male, 31 years of age).
The suspect (N/Male, 42 years of age) is arrested is due to appear at Otjiwarongo
Magistragte Court on Monday, 07 November 2016.
The Police have opened two cases of Murder and Attempted Murder (Read with Domestic
Violence Act) against the suspect.
The next of kin of the deceased are already formally informed.
KALKVELD POLICE STATION: CULPABLE HOMICIDE
On Thursday, 03 November 2016, at about 21h00, on the Otjiwarongo / Kalkveld main
road, almost 11 Km before Kalkveld, two vehicles an Isuzu Pick-Up Single Cap and a Truck
collided head-on.
In the Isuzu Pick-Up, there were three occupants, including the driver and two cattle’s at
the back of the vehicle, it is alleged that it was descending from an uphill and encroached
onto the lane of oncoming vehicles and collided head-on with an oncoming Truck.
All three occupants (one male and two females) of the Isuzu Pick-Up were pronounced
dead at the scene of the accident, and two cattle’s (one dead and the other injured) were
was also found at the accident scene.
It is alleged that, the deceased`s were a family travelling to a wedding at Omatjete Village.
The driver of the truck was alone, and sustained minor injuries.
The deceased have been identified.
Police investigations into the matter continue.

TSES POLICE STATION: RAPE
On Friday, 04 November 2016, at about 22h30, at Tses Area, 18 years old woman was
raped by a 17 years old boy.
It is alleged that, the victim was on her way home and came across a group of men, and one
of the men grabbed and forced her into an abandoned house and had sexual intercourse
with the victim without her consent.
The suspect (N/Male, 17 years old) is arrested and is due to appear at Keetmanshoop
Magistrate Court on Monday, 07 November 2016.
OSHIKOTO REGION
OMUTHIYA POLICE STATION: MURDER
On Thursday, 03 November 2016, at about 18h30, at Okashana Koomanya Village,
Omuthiya Area, a 68 years old man died after he was attacked and chopped with an
unknown object by unknown suspects.
The victim was living with a female domestic worker at his homestead, and was allegedly
attacked by unknown suspect or suspects on Thursday afternoon and chopped with an
unknown object, and died on the spot.
It is alleged that, at the time of the incident, the domestic worker had taken their animals to
the water point.
The deceased was identified as Johannes Iita (N/Male, 68 years of age).
The next of kin of the deceased are already formally informed, Police investigations into
the matter are in fullswing, and we are following up on all the possible leads in this
matter.
KING NEHALE POLICE STATION: CULPABLE HOMICIDE
On Friday, 04 November 2016, at about 11h28, on the Oshivelo / Omuthiya main road,
almost 20 Km to Omuthiya, at Omutsegowonime, two vehicles a White Isuzu Double Cap
(GRN, belonging to the Min of Health) and a Mazda Station Wagon collided head-on, and a
third vehicle a Quantum Mini Bus traveling behind the Mazda Station Wagon swerved to
avoid the accident and hit against a tree trump on the side of the road and caught fire on
impact and burned to ashes.

In the GRN Isuzu Double Cap, there were two occupants, the driver (52 years old) and a
female passenger, both sustained minor injuries.
In the Mazda Station Wagon, there were five occupants, including the driver. Four people
including the driver were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident; only one passenger
(male, 52 years of age) survived with serious injuries and was briefly treated at Omuthiya
State Hospital and transferred to Onandjokwe Luthern Hospital in a serious condition.
In the Quantum Mini Bus that hit against the tree trump and caught fire, there were 14
occupants including the driver, 13 people escaped unhurt, only one passenger (female, 57
years old) sustained serious injuries and were also briefly treated at Omuthiya State
Hospital and transferred to Onandjokwe Luthern Hospital in a serious condition.
From the four people that died at the accident scene, two have been identified, but their
next of kin are not yet formally informed, thus their names cannot be revealed, whilst two
have not been identified yet.
The Police have opened a case of Culpable Homicide as a result of the Head-on collision,
and a case of Reckless and or Negligent Driving in respect of the Quantum Mini Bus that hit
against the tree trump.
Police investigations into the matter continue.
TSINTSABIS POLICE STATION : RAPE
On Saturday, 05 November 2016, at about 22h00, at Tsintsabis, a 22 years old woman was
gang raped by three men.
It is alleged that, the three suspects had sexual intercourse with the victim without her
consent.
All three suspects (aged 20 years, 20 years and 21 years) have been arrested and is due to
appear at Tsumeb Magistrate Court on Tuesday, 08 November 2016.
OMUTHIYA POLICE STATION : INQUEST (UNNATURAL DEATH)
On Saturday, 05 November 2016, at about 17h00, at Engodi Ndanatuwe Village, a 7 years
old boy was found dead after he drank traditional liquor “Ombike”.
It is alleged that, the deceased found an unattended one litre bottle of the traditional liquor
in the house and drank it.
The deceased was identified as Tomas Petrus, 7 years old boy.

KUNENE REGION
KAMANJAB POLICE STATION : RAPE
On Friday, 04 November 2016, between 23h00 and 00h00, at Okatumba-Komasa Location,
at Kamanjab, a 17 years old girl was raped by a 23 years old male.
It is alleged that, the victim was on her way home coming from a bar where she enjoyed the
night, and the suspect grabbed her and pulled her into his house where he assaulted the
victim with his hands and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.
The suspect (N/Male, 23 years) is already arrested and will appear at Outjo Magistrate
Court on Monday, 07 November 2016.
OMAHEKE REGION
EPUKIRO POLICE STATION : MURDER
On Friday, 04 November 2016, at about 20h00, at Epukiro, a 60 years old man died after he
was stabbed by a male suspect with a sharp object on the throat.
It is alleged that, the victim was on his way home from a drinking place and on his way, he
met a male person who allegedly asked for matches, and as he reached to his pockets for
the match, the suspect stabbed the victim with a sharp object on the throat.
The victim was rushed to Epukiro Clinic where he later died.
The deceased was identified as Thosi John (N/Male, 60 years of age).
The next of kin of the deceased are already formally informed, Police investigations
continue.
No suspect has been arrested, Police investigations into the matter continue.

OMUSATI REGION
OKAHAO POLICE STATION : INQUEST (DROWNING)
On Saturday, 05 November 2016, at around 23h50, at Okeendjupa Cattle Post, at
Onamatanga Village, Ruacana Constituency, two men were found dead in a water well.
It is suspected that, the deceased were digging an old water well, which is suspected to
have collapsed and both fall in and died.
The deceased were identified as Angolan nationals, and was employed as Cattle herders.
Their bodies were discovered by fellow cattle herders and then notified the Police.
The deceased have been identified, but their next of kin are not yet formally informed,
therefore their names cannot be released.
Police investigations into the matter continue.
