The Road to and Through Impressionism
Wednesday, April 19 @ 7 p.m.
This lecture, presented by art historian Fred Dixon, will describe how art history progresses as the art pendulum swung throughout the 19th century. Paintings by Morisot, Pissarro, Sisley, Renoir and Monet are now considered the height of serenity and beauty but that was not always the
case. See their art and discover how the painting styles of Renoir and Monet changed during their careers. Hear how Impressionism got its name
and why it was considered vulgar and ridiculous early on. Dixon will be available to sign his book “700 Years Of Art History: Pre-Renaissance To
Modernism” that will be offered at the deep discounted price of $35.
Let's Discuss Ergonomics: The Ability to Reduce Physical Stress and Increase Productivity
Wednesday, May 10 @ 7 p.m.
Small business owners work in a fast paced environment and can find themselves working in nontraditional or less than ideal workspaces. They
are too busy taking care of business, often neglecting their own personal health. The content is targeted towards businesses of all sizes. Whether
you are a sole proprietor or employ 1-50 workers, businesses can benefit from implementing strategies that monitor and improve workplace
setup to reduce risk of injury. Presented by Kathy Dixon, a physical therapist and co-owner of Action Potential, and SCORE, this interactive
presentation will educate participants on the steps to a successful ergonomics process as well as include take home advice for an ergonomic
computer workstation setup. Chester and Delaware County SCORE and Newtown Public Library have teamed up to provide valuable information
