Dear Delegates, Observers, and Faculty,
It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the second American Mock World Health Organization
conference (AMWHO 2015). As you complete registration for the conference, we kindly ask you to
review our conference policies and complete the following documents.
The first three pages outline our Conference Policies for AMWHO 2015. The fourth and fifth pages
contain our Liability Release Form that is required for participation in AMWHO 2015 and must be
submitted by September 25.
Forms may be printed and scanned, or signed directly in Adobe Reader or other similar software.
Signed forms should be emailed to [email protected]. Delegates who do not submit liability waivers by
September 25 will be fined a $10.00 fee at registration on October 2. Otherwise, delegates will not be
allowed to participate in the conference.

Conference Policies
General Policies
The Executive Co-Directors and the President of the American Mock World Health Organization
(AMWHO) are the only staff members empowered to grant exceptions to any conference policies or
other general AMWHO 2015 practices. AMWHO 2015 is not liable for any erroneous statements made
by other staff members regarding exceptions to fees or policies.
Delegate behavior should reflect you and your academic institution at all times. Delegates are
expected to behave in a manner that is respectful of other delegates, staff, residents, and property.
Delegates are liable for any damages to conference and premise property.
Delegates are expected to behave in a manner that respects their person and their peers. Any and all
injuries should be reported to the Executive Co-Directors immediately. Should any medical emergency
arise, please first call 911.
Registration Fee and Schedule
All fees are owed to AMWHO via PayPal or check (made payable to “AMWHO at UNC”) on the dates
outlined below. Delegates will not be allowed to register at the conference until they have paid any
outstanding debts to AMWHO. If a delegate withdraws from the conference, that delegate is liable for
all fees charged up to the date of withdrawal.
A registration fee of US$50.00 is due with the initial application for the conference. No delegate will be
assigned a position until the registration fee has been paid. The registration schedule is as below:

AMWHO website, or you did not pay at that time, please email [email protected] for the payment link
to be sent to you.
Alcohol and Drug Policy
Only those delegates age 21 or older may consume alcohol in North Carolina. North Carolina state
laws also stipulates that alcohol cannot be purchased Monday-Saturday 2-7 AM and Sunday 2 AM-12
PM. Open containers of alcohol may not be carried in public areas, including committee rooms and
hallways. Previously opened bottles of alcohol should be carried in a car trunk. No alcoholic beverage
may be removed from the licensed premises at any time that alcohol sales are not allowed by law.
North Carolina defines a .08 percent blood alcohol content (BAC) as legally intoxicated. “Implied
consent laws” require that a driver to comply with breath, blood, or urine testing for intoxication if a law
enforcement officer requests it.
Delegates found possessing or using illicit drugs, as defined by United States federal law, will be
required to leave the conference premises immediately and may be held criminally liable.
Smoking Policy
Orange County prohibits smoking indoors, in County and Town buildings, grounds, vehicles, and Park
systems. UNC Chapel Hill bans smoking inside University buildings and facilities, and also within 100
feet from all University facilities both on and off campus.
Valuables
Delegates are solely responsible for any valuables they choose to bring to the conference. AMWHO,
Gillings, and UNC Medicine are not responsible for belongings left in committee rooms ,conference
premises, or housing premises.
Committee Session Policy
Delegates are expected to be in their respective committee rooms during committee sessions. In order
for delegates to leave their rooms for an extended period of time, both the Chair of the committee and
one or both of the Executive Co-Directors must be informed ahead of time. Furthermore, all delegates
are expected to abide by committee dress code.
Plagiarism Policy
The full staff of AMWHO 2015 remains committed to excellent substantive quality of debate and to the
integrity of our conference and organization. Plagiarism is a serious offences to this integrity, and will
not be tolerated. Any delegate found to have engaged in plagiarism before or during the conference

will be disqualified from delegate awards, and any documents found to contain plagiarism will have
the plagiarized clauses removed.
Dress Code
The official dress code for AMWHO 2015 is professional business attire. Western business attire is
preferred. Standard delegate attire is a business jacket, slacks/ skirt, dress shirt (with a tie for men), and
dress shoes. Please refer to the UNAUSA guidelines for additional specificity. Traditional dress is
permitted for international delegates in whose native countries “professional business attire” includes
traditional cultural dress.
Other rules
The Executive Board reserves the right to immediately expel delegates from the conference due to
unlawful and/or unacceptable behavior. If a delegate is dismissed from the conference, he or she is
automatically disqualified from conference awards. The Executive Board reserves the right to define
appropriate conference behavior. Examples of inappropriate behavior that may warrant consequences
to the individual include, but are not limited to:
Sexual assault
Harassment of any kind
Cyber-bullying
Displays of sexism
Physical violence
Purchase, sale, possession, or consumption of illicit substances (as defined by North Carolina state law)
Possession and/or displays of weapons
Theft and vandalism

Liability Release Form
By signing this liability form, each participant agrees to abide by the rules of the American Mock World
Health Organization (AMWHO), the Gillings School of Public Health (Gillings), and the UNC School of
Medicine. These rules are established for participants’ safety, as well as for that of other students,
faculty, and staff of these venues. Rules will be enforced by the Gillings security staff, University security,
and the AMWHO team.
Every student participating in AMWHO 2015 must sign and return a copy of this form to AMWHO
before registration for the conference on the 2nd October. Please return a signed form by 25th
September, 2015 to [email protected]. Students without a completed release form on file prior to
AMWHO 2015 will not be permitted to register at the conference, and will therefore be unable to
participate in conference activities.

fullest extent permitted by law, the American Mock World Health Organization 2015 conference
(“AMWHO 2015”) and the American Mock World Health Organization (“AMWHO”), and their directors,
staff, volunteers, and any agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, costs, or
obligations including, but not limited to, attorneys’ fees and expenses, which may arise out of my
travelling to, participating in, or returning from AMWHO 2015, but excluding liability for injury, death,
or damage caused solely by gross negligence of AMWHO 2015 and the AMWHO. I take full personal
responsibility for all charges and damages to my accommodation and transportation.
I also declare that I have read, understood, and will adhere to the Conference Policies of AMWHO
2015, and will adhere to the applicable laws of the State of North Carolina, the United States of
America, and any other pertinent laws or regulations in force at the conference location. I declare that I
will adhere to any additional rules promulgated by AMWHO 2015 before and during the conference,
including but not limited to those published in the conference handbook and those announced by the
Executive Co-Directors. I give my consent to be photographed, videotaped, and/or interviewed by
AMWHO 2015 for said photographs, videos, and interviews to be used by AMWHO 2015 in any
manner of their choosing.
I do voluntarily authorize AMWHO 2015 staff to administer and/or obtain routine or emergency
diagnostic procedures and/or routine or emergency medical treatment for the above named person as

deemed necessary in good medical judgement. I understand that refunds or other considerations will
not be granted for any reason except as provided for by AMWHO 2015 policy and procedure, and I
agree that I may be expelled from the conference at any time for violating this agreement with no
expectation of refund. Refunds or other consideration will not be granted to those registered
participants unable to attend the conference for any reason, including but not limited to inclement
weather, travel delays, or illness.
I agree that this agreement is enforceable to the fullest extent of the law, and that any provisions herein
found invalid as a matter of law will be deemed severable from the balance of the agreement.
