1.2 Huawei Watch_What are the special features of the
watch?
The Huawei Watch integrates health and fitness data, voice interaction features, and useful
notifications into one smart watch. Some of the features include:

Changeable watch face (you can choose from a range of beautifully-designed classic,
digital, and sporty watch faces)

Notification (for incoming calls, SMS messages, Hangouts, emails, and more)

Voice interaction

Health and fitness data (the watch automatically recognizes different activities, records
fitness data, and detects your heart rate)
1.3 Huawei Watch_How do I get started with the watch?
1.
Before setting up your watch, download the Android Wear app from Google PlayTM or
the Apple App Store and install it on your phone.
2.
Press and hold the power button to power on your watch and then select the desired
language.
3.
Enable Bluetooth on your phone, launch the Android Wear app, and pair your phone
with the Huawei Watch according to the onscreen instructions.
4.
This will sync settings, the time, and other data to your Huawei Watch. Once complete,
you can start using your watch.

1 Product Introduction
After the sync is complete, try the gestures shown on onscreen to familiarize yourself
with the watch's basic gestures and features.

You must use the Android Wear app to pair your watch with your phone. Do not use your phone's
own Bluetooth interface.

You will not be able to use your watch if you cannot pair it with your phone. Try resetting the watch,
restart your phone, turn Bluetooth on and off again, and then try re-pairing.

Yes. You can wear the watch on either wrist as you prefer.

Huawei offers a selection of beautiful watch straps that can be changed to suit different
occasions. The straps are made from imported stainless steel and genuine Italian leather and
have passed stringent dermatological tests for a safe and comfortable wearing experience.

watch strap?

Stainless steel mesh strap: Please adjust the strap yourself so that it fits your wrist.

Leather strap: First try adjusting the strap yourself so that it fits your wrist. If the strap
does not fit comfortably using the existing holes, please take the watch to a professional
dealer (for example, a Huawei Watch retailer or jewelers) for adjustment.

Stainless steel link bracelet: A special tool is needed to adjust the bracelet. To prevent
any accidental damage to the watch, please take it to a professional dealer (for example,
a Huawei Watch retailer or jewelers) for adjustment.

When removing links, try and prevent the ferrule from falling out of the center link. If the ferrule does
fall out, please re-insert from the arrow side of the link.

To assemble the bracelet, re-insert link pins in the opposite direction of the arrows.

There is considerable friction between the link pin and ferrule. Turn the bracelet on its
side and press down on the flat surface of the link removal tool to push the pin back into
the link.

Load the bracelet back into the tool, line it up with the newly assembled link and turn the

When connecting to a new Wi-Fi network, ensure that your watch remains connected to your phone via
Bluetooth.

After your watch disconnects from your phone, you can still use the watch's alarm, timer, and
stopwatch and use it to record exercise data. If you connect your watch to a Wi-Fi network,
you will also be able to use phone-dependent features, such as message and call notifications
and voice interaction.
3.9 Huawei Watch_Why does pairing take so long?
When pairing, the Android Wear app uses Bluetooth to sync data from watch-compatible apps
on your phone to the watch. The sync duration depends on the number of apps on your phone
and the quality of the Bluetooth connection. Bluetooth transfers may take some time to
complete.
Please do not use your phone while it is syncing as this may interrupt the process.

the following incremental schedule: 1s, 2s, 4s, 8s, 16s, 32s, 64s, 128s, 256s, 256s, 256s...
If the watch is disconnected for a prolonged period, the reconnect delay will reach 256s, in which case
your phone may take a few minutes to reconnect.

In order to save power, the Android Wear app will issue reconnect requests according to the

If the watch is disconnected for a prolonged period, the reconnect delay will reach 32 min, in which case
your phone may take a long time to reconnect.

Manual reconnect: The watch will display a notification message when Bluetooth
disconnects. You can touch the message to reconnect immediately.

accuracy?
If the watch fails to detect your heart rate or displays variant readings over a short period of
time, follow the steps below:

Ensure that you have removed the transparent protective film on the back of the watch.

Ensure that the back of the watch is clean and dry and that there are no objects between
the back of the watch and your wrist.

Check that you are wearing the watch properly. The watch should sit comfortably on
your wrist. Do not wear the watch too tight or too loose.

Keep your wrist still and avoid shaking it when measuring your heart rate.

If the watch still doesn't detect your heart rate after numerous tries, restart your watch
and try again. If the watch still doesn't detect your heart rate, contact your local Huawei
service center for support.

feature?
Swipe left on the watch's home screen, select Settings, and then set Screen lock to ON. Enter
your unlock pattern to complete the screen lock settings.

Touch Lock screen now to lock your watch's screen.

Your watch will vibrate when you receive a notification. If the screen is locked, you must unlock it
first using your unlock pattern before you can view the notification.

In your phone's calendar app, create an event and set the event time. Your watch will send you
a reminder at the specified time.

On the home screen, touch and hold the watch face to open the menu. Select Together as the

Choose from the following methods to pair with a nearby watch. Once paired, you can share

Touch Send an invite from phone to send an invite to a watch paired with your phone.

Please ensure that your watch and phone are connected and that your phone is logged into a Google
account.

Ensure that the two watches are within Bluetooth range.

The Together face is only compatible with phones running Android version 5.0 or later.

Swipe left on the watch's home screen, select Settings, and set Wrist Gestures to ON. When
you receive several notifications, you can tilt your wrist to scroll through the notifications.

To update to the latest version: The Android Wear app will automatically check for version
updates and send you an update notification on the app's home screen. You can also update
through update notifications sent by Google PlayTM.

Installing apps:

You must use your phone to uninstall apps from the watch. This will be automatically synced
to your watch.
You cannot uninstall apps using the watch interface.

Touch and hold the home screen, select the settings icon
underneath Dual Digit, and
select the desired city. Once you have configured the settings, the time for the selected city
will be displayed at the top of the watch face. The local time will be displayed underneath.
10.6 Huawei Watch_How can I turn on the screen using
gestures?
Yes. You can turn on the screen using wrist gestures, such as by tilting or lifting your wrist.
Touch
in the Android Wear app to access the settings menu, select your Huawei Watch
under DEVICE SETTINGS, and select Tilt to wake screen.
If you have enabled Theater mode, you can only turn on the screen by pressing the power button.
10.7 Huawei Watch_How do I adjust the screen
brightness?
You can adjust the screen brightness using either of the methods below:
To temporarily increase the screen brightness: Press the power button three consecutive
times to temporarily increase the screen brightness for 5 seconds. This feature is designed to
be used when you cannot see the screen well, for example, in bright sunlight.
To adjust the screen brightness: Swipe left on the home screen, select Settings > Adjust
brightness, and swipe up or down to adjust the screen brightness (there are five brightness
levels available).
10.8 Huawei Watch_Can I configure the lift wrist to
wake/tilt wrist to wake function from the Wrist Gestures
settings?
No. The settings for lift wrist to wake/tilt wrist to wake must be configured in the Android
Wear app. For details, refer to the question "How can I turn on the screen using gestures?"

You can enable Theater mode when you are at the cinema/theater to avoid disturbing others.
Your watch's screen will remain off even when you use screen wakeup gestures (lifting/tilting

Theater mode is not equivalent to power saving mode. When Theater mode is enabled, you will not be
able to view the time, notifications, or incoming calls, therefore we recommend that you only enable this
mode when necessary.

If the screen is set to full brightness and you don't touch the watch, the screen will
switch to half brightness after 10s. You can enable full brightness for 5s by
touching/swiping the screen or watch crown.

If you don't touch the watch for 5s, the screen will switch to half brightness.

If you touch the screen or crown during this 5s period, the screen will remain at full
brightness for 10s in total.

The screen will remain at full brightness for a maximum of 10s when the watch is
inactive.
Set Always-on Screen to OFF.

If the screen is set to full brightness and you don't touch the watch, the screen will
turn off after 10s. When the screen is off, you can wake it for 5s by touching it or by
tilting or lifting your wrist.

If you don't touch it again for 5s, the screen will turn off.

If you touch the screen or watch crown during this 5s period, the screen will remain
at full brightness for 10s in total
The above settings cannot currently be changed and apply for all watches that run Android Wear. We

Enable demonstration mode:
Before pairing, the watch will display the pairing screen when it is powered on. Press down
on the left and right sides of the screen with your middle and index fingers and touch
repeatedly with one of the fingers. This will enable demonstration mode.
Disable demonstration mode:
Touch and hold the watch crown for 3s. Select Factory reset from the Settings menu. This
will restore your watch to factory settings and allow you to pair it with your phone.

when in ambient mode? Why does it return to normal
when the screen wakes up?
The watch face is moved periodically in ambient mode to protect your screen and prolong its
lifespan.

The watch uses a state-of-the-art AMOLED display which is susceptible to damage if the
same screen pixels are constantly lit.

AMOLED displays offer excellent contrast and bright colors. Huawei will continue to
improve AMOLED technology to bring users the best possible experience.

It is recommended that you plug the cradle into the back of the watch then check to see if the charging
icon is displayed. If you cannot see the charging icon, you may need to wiggle the cradle until contact is
established and the charging icon appears.

standby time? Why is the battery life shorter than with
other watches?
The watch uses a 300 mAh lithium battery manufactured by a leading brand. The battery
typically lasts 1.5 days with normal use, including 24 working hours and 8 resting hours.
Watch battery life depends on battery capacity and usage. If you install lots of third-party apps
or use watch features intensively, this will reduce the standby time.
During a 24-hour working period, the watch can perform the following typical tasks:

Wake up the screen 6 times/hour

Receive 20 notifications/hour

Initiate 5 calls/hour

Reject 15 calls

Answer 30 calls

Remain on standby for the remaining time (with Always-on screen enabled)

B. Disable the Always-on screen feature

A full charge takes approximately 90 minutes. Please charge the watch in advance if you think the
battery might run out.

Watch battery life depends on battery capacity, watch features and usage. For example, a watch with
a color screen uses more power than an e-ink screen. Likewise, smart watches use more power than
ordinary electronic watches. Frequent use of smart watch features will also increase power
consumption.

The typical usage scenarios above are for reference purposes only.
11.4 Huawei Watch_What are the charger specifications?
Please use the standard charger included with your Huawei Watch.
If you need to purchase a new charger, the Huawei Watch supports the following charging

percentage and detailed battery usage statistics.
11.8 Huawei Watch_Why doesn't the watch support
wireless charging?

Wired charging is quicker than wireless charging. The watch can be fully charged in just
90 minutes.

Wired charging consumes less power than wireless charging and is therefore more
environmentally-friendly.

The Huawei Watch has an IP67 water and dust resistance rating, meaning that you can use it
when washing your hands, cooking, washing your car, or when it is raining. However, the
watch is not designed for swimming, diving, or prolonged submersion in water.
13.3 Huawei Watch_How should I clean and care for my
watch?
Keep the watch and your wrist clean and dry and wipe off any sweat after you have finished
exercising. Clean the watch regularly by wiping it with a soft cloth and remove any dirt
lodged in nooks and crannies.
If you are using the stainless steel mesh strap, do not forcibly bend the strap, as this may
cause irreparable damage.
13.4 Huawei Watch_In what scenarios will my watch
become warm?
Your watch may overheat when charging if it is not well ventilated or if it is exposed to high
temperatures. For example, if you charge your watch when it is wrapped in clothing, placed

13.5 Huawei Watch_Is the watch scratch-resistant?

The Huawei Watch is housed inside a cold-forged 316L stainless steel bezel. This type of
stainless steel is 40% stronger than conventional stainless steel with excellent
scratch-resistant properties.

The watch face is made of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with a high degree of
hardness. It can withstand normal wear and tear without getting scratched, but strong
impact, dropping the watch, and sharp objects coming into contact with the watch should
be avoided. For example, avoid scratching the watch face with a knife or against a rock.

The gold-plated strap is coated with karat gold. It is soft and should not be exposed to
materials or surfaces with the same or higher degree of hardness, such as diamonds,
corundum, oxidized metal, quartz crystal, grindstone, sand paper, nail clippers, paper
blades, and concrete walls.
13.6 Huawei Watch_How can I avoid scratching the watch?

The Huawei Watch has passed stringent scratch-resistant tests. All watches are shipped
with a protective film.

The watch is designed to withstand impacts during normal everyday use. However, do
not allow the watch to come into contact with sharp objects such as keys and other metal
objects that may scratch the watch.

Avoid impacts with metal objects or hard materials. Care for your watch in the same way
you would care for your phone.
13.7 Huawei Watch_Why does the leather strap crease?
It is normal for the leather strap to crease during use.
All leather straps are molded at a high temperature before delivery. When you wear the strap,
it will bend to fit the shape of your wrist, which will extend the fibers in the leather.
Creases will appear when you take the strap off and bend the leather. This is entirely normal.
13.8 Huawei Watch_How should I care for my leather
strap?

Store your leather strap in a dry, well-ventilated area. Wipe off any water or dirt using a
dry, soft, and clean cloth, then place it in a cool, well-ventilated area to dry and apply a
small amount of leather polish.

Do not dry the strap by placing it in direct sunlight or by using heating appliances such
as microwaves or hairdryers, otherwise it may shrink/expand.

Avoid contact with rough or sharp objects to prevent damage to your strap.

Do not squeeze the strap or bend it for prolonged periods, otherwise it may change
shape.

Keep the watch strap away from flammable, acidic, and alkaline materials. Natural
marks or imperfections on the leather are not covered by the warranty.

If the
icon is displayed on your watch, this indicates that the Bluetooth connection with
your phone was interrupted.
Your phone will attempt to re-establish the connection with your watch. The connection will
normally be re-established within 5 minutes.
If the connection was not re-established after 5 minutes, disable the Bluetooth connection in
the Android Wear app and then attempt to reconnect.
14.2 Huawei Watch_Why isn't my watch charging?
If your watch isn't charging, follow the steps below:

Ensure that the metal charging contacts on the back of your watch are aligned correctly
with the pins on the charging cradle.

Check that there is no dirt or corrosion on the metal charging contacts or the charging
cradle pins.

Check that the pins on the charging cradle are intact.

If you encounter any of the issues above and cannot rectify them by yourself, take your watch to your
local Huawei service center.
14.3 Huawei Watch_Why does the battery drain so
quickly?

Check whether your phone is connected to the Internet and whether you can access
Google PlayTM.

Check whether your watch is paired with another devices. Swipe left on the watch's
home screen, go to Settings > Bluetooth devices, and check the Bluetooth connection
history.

Check whether Wi-Fi is enabled on your watch. Swipe left on the watch's home screen
and go to Settings > Wi-Fi settings > Wi-Fi. If Automatic is enabled then Wi-Fi is
turned on. Connect to the same Wi-Fi network on your phone and check whether you can
access Google PlayTM.

Ensure that you use Google's Android Wear app to pair your watch with your phone.
Using other apps to pair your devices may prevent Google services from working
properly.

Check whether any power-consuming apps on your phone have been synced to your
watch. Uninstall these apps and see whether your watch's battery life returns to normal.


watch. Try uninstalling these apps and see whether your watch's battery life returns to

14.4 Huawei Watch_What should I do if the battery level
is too low and I can't power my watch on?
If you cannot power your watch on because the battery level is too low, or the screen displays
the charging icon but you cannot power the watch on and the watch is warm, follow the steps
below:

Check that the metal charging contacts on the back of the watch and the pins on the
charging cradle are not damaged.

Ensure that nothing is obstructing the connection between the watch and the charging
cradle and that the metal contacts are not corroded. Check that the pins on the charging
cradle are not bent and that they connect to the metal charging contacts properly.
14.5 Huawei Watch_Why don't I receive push notifications
when my phone is locked?
Push notifications are sent to your watch via the Android Wear app.
Ensure that your watch is paired with your phone via Bluetooth, then check that the Android
Wear app has been added to the Protected apps list.

On your phone, go to Settings > Protected apps, then select the Android Wear app. You will
now be able to receive push notifications on your watch when your phone is locked.
14.6 Huawei Watch_What can I do if the volume of my
watch recordings is too low or there is too much
interference?

Check whether any objects are obstructing the microphone and remove them carefully.

The watch's microphone is located on the upper side of the watch. Direct your voice at
the watch's display when recording.

Keep the watch within 10 cm of your mouth to ensure a clear recording. If you are
recording in a noisy environment, speak up or move closer to the watch.
If there is no background noise and the recording quality is still poor even when you speak up, contact
your local service center.
14.7 Huawei Watch_What is the Bluetooth transmission
range？
In an ideal scenario (i.e. no obstructions), the Bluetooth transmission range is approximately
10 m. However, obstructions (e.g. walls or furniture), complex Wi-Fi environments,
microwaves, and multiple Bluetooth connections may limit the effective range. This is due to
the limitations of the Bluetooth protocol.
14.8 Huawei Watch_The watch doesn't adjust the display
brightness automatically. Does this mean that the watch
does not have an ambient light sensor?
Yes. The Huawei Watch does not yet have an ambient light sensor. An ambient light sensor
will be included on future models.
14.9 Huawei Watch_Why is the charging icon so small?

A small charging icon is displayed at the top of the screen during charging. The size of
the charging icon was determined based on the screen size and the watch's overall
design.

The default watch face (Moon Phase) features a lightning charging icon. This makes the
charging icon more obvious.

You can also swipe down from the top of the display during charging to view the current
battery level and charging status.

The watch case is 11.3 mm thick and contains over 260 components. A certain amount of
space is needed due to the large number of components and the complicated

14.14 Huawei Watch_The watch gets warm during use.
What design standards are used to prevent overheating?

The Huawei Watch conforms to international safety standards for IT devices and was
designed using industry-leading standards to prevent overheating.

In order to provide a safe and comfortable wearing experience, the watch's temperature
will not exceed your skin temperature during normal use. However, the watch's
temperature may exceed your skin temperature when it is charging or when you
download or update apps. Remove the watch when performing these operations and wait
for it to cool down before putting it back on.

Avoid using the watch in direct sunlight or high temperatures to prevent the watch from
becoming hot and causing discomfort.
14.15 Huawei Watch_Why does the watch get warm when
the screen is off?
Normally, the phone only consumes a small amount of power when the screen is off, therefore
it is unlikely to become warm.
Remember to close the Android Wear app on your watch after use to prevent third-party apps from
running in the background and resulting in high CPU usage or excessive power consumption.
14.16 Huawei Watch_Why does the watch get warm
during OTA updates?
CPU usage increases during OTA updates in order to speed up the update process. This will
cause the watch's temperature to increase, which is entirely normal.

Before updating, remove the watch from your wrist and ensure that there is sufficient battery power
remaining.

Place the watch in a well-ventilated area when performing an update and wait for it to cool down
before putting it back on.
14.17 Huawei Watch_Why does the watch get warm
during a factory reset or when syncing via Bluetooth?
CPU usage increases when you perform a factory reset or sync data via Bluetooth. This
causes the watch's temperature to increase.
Depending on the amount of data synced and time it takes to complete the syncing process,
the watch's temperature may exceed the temperature of your skin. This is entirely normal.
Before performing a factory reset or syncing data, remove the watch from your wrist and place it in a
well-ventilated area.

14.18 Huawei Watch_What features does the watch
support when the temperature is lower than 0 °C or above
35 °C?

When the temperature is lower than 0 °C or above 35 °C, some of the watch's features
may not be available. For example, you may not be able to charge the watch, or the
sensor's accuracy may decrease.

In extreme temperatures (below –10 °C or above +55 °C), the touchscreen may
malfunction. This can result in irreversible damage.
Avoid prolonged use in extremely hot, cold or humid environments.
14.19 Huawei Watch_Why does the watch only recognize a
few voice commands when it is not connected to the
Internet via my phone?
The watch needs to connect to Google servers in order to recognize your voice commands.
If the watch is not connected to the Internet via your phone, it will not be able to connect to
Google servers and will only recognize "Ok Google". All other voice commands will be
ineffective.
14.20 Huawei Watch_Why does the Offline icon appear
when I say "Ok Google"?
There are two possible reasons for the Offline icon appearing on the watch when you say "Ok
Google".

If your watch is not paired with your phone via Bluetooth or your phone is not connected
to the Internet, your watch will only be able to recognize the "Ok Google" voice
command. No other voice commands will be recognized, therefore the Offline icon will
be displayed.

If your watch is paired with your phone and your phone is connected to the Internet, the
Offline icon may appear when the Internet connection is slow or intermittent, or when
the watch is syncing a large amount of data from your phone.
14.21 Huawei Watch_Why is there a large discrepancy
between heart rate measurements after a period of
strenuous exercise?

Issue 01 (2015-11-27)
During strenuous exercise, your heart rate will be in the range of 140-180 beats per
minute (bpm). After you finish exercising, it will decrease rapidly to 90-110 bpm within
2–3 minutes. It takes approximately 11 seconds for the watch to measure your heart rate,
therefore each measurement is likely to be different.

14.22 Huawei Watch_Why does the screen have a reddish
tint when viewed in the dark? Is this a quality defect?
We have noticed inquiries from some users that a reddish tint was observed on some of their
Huawei watches. Huawei can confirm that all the watches showing red tint are compliant with
key display specifications and functions found within common usage cases. The reddish tint is
only observable in very low ambient conditions under a dominate black watch background.
This behavior in no way affects the functioning of the watch.

AMOLED screen design and functionality were chosen to best fit our customers' needs and

Swipe left on the watch's home screen, then select Settings > About. The watch's Bluetooth

If your watch is set to power saving mode, data is only updated once per minute in
ambient mode. When the screen is on, data is updated in real time.

The watch features a highly-accurate 6-axis motion sensor with a 3-axis accelerometer
and gyroscope. These sensors can track your activity data for walking, running, climbing
stairs, and more. The accelerometer has passed stringent tests and provides highly
accurate step data.
14.25 Huawei_Why doesn't the screen always turn on
when I lift my wrist?
You can lift or tilt your wrist to wake the screen.
Lift to wake: With your arm pointing downwards, lift your wrist until the watch face is facing
you.
