Ergonomic Design for Ease of Use and Maintenance
Designed for Safety/ Reliability/ Infection Control
The front and rear handles have comfortable grips, making AMiS easy to move from room
to room. The work area is smartly designed, with a keyboard/mouse tray and spacious
work area, and its ergonomic design features adjustable height, either motor-driven (AMiS50), or supported by gas spring (AMiS-60), which makes for comfortable, stress-free use
even on extended work shifts. AMiS also features an intuitive “dashboard” that shows
power status and battery consumption, and includes the height control buttons (AMiS-50
only).
AMiS features a seamless design that allows hospital personnel to keep the station clean, meeting hospital standards
and preventing the spread of infection. AMiS is designed to meet medical safety certifications. There are no sharp
edges, and all components are built to minimize risk of pinched fingers or stubbed toes. AMiS is rugged, with the same
trusted industrial design built into all Advantech products.

Enhancing the patient care process and easing the demanding jobs of clinicians requires technologies
that are accurate, reliable, highly mobile and cost-effective. Mobile Point-of-Care systems are designed
to move with busy healthcare professionals. They use wireless infrastructure, mobile devices and
specialized applications to meet the needs of caregivers.
Long-lasting Battery
Great Flexibility with Modular Design
AMiS is built with cost-effectiveness in mind. An intelligent upgrade path, flexibility and ability to be customized all make it an attractive
long-term solution for hospitals and clinics. AMiS’ use of a DIN rail for accessory integration prevents damage to the frame. The work
surface height adjusts all the way from seated to standing operation. The onboard PC is easily upgradeable, and features multiple I/O
connections (USB 2.0 ports x 4, Gigabit Ethernet port x 1) to allow integration with barcode readers, HD cameras, and card readers.
Application development for patient monitoring applications, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Hospital Information Systems (HIS),
and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) are no problem with AMiS.
AMiS products feature built-in long-lasting power supplies which utilize
up-to-date LiFePO4 battery technology (Lithium-Iron Phosphate; LFP). This
technology is a high performance, cost effective solution to upgrading power
on mobile computer carts in healthcare environments. It is also manageable
with high quality AMiS_Link software.
Easy Battery Replacement
Battery replacement has never been as easy as with AMiS. With only a few
simple steps (only 7 screws on the cart) the job is done! It’s simple, easy, and
fast!
AMiS can be equipped with a second monitor for dual display, and can also be integrated with additional storage accessories.
AMiS: Highly integrated computerized nursing carts to
optimize the patient care process and enable mobile
point-of-care
Computer Embedded
AMiS is a computerized medical cart built with a mini-ITX motherboard inside; this
distinguishes AMiS from other carts which are stacked with desktop computers or
laptops on board. This integration feature allows customers to flexibly and easily
upgrade computing performance and minimize the total cost of ownership.
Advantech has designed a solution that is sure to become a
nurse’s new best friend. It is so friendly in fact that these new
digital healthcare computerized nursing carts have been dubbed:
AMiS (as in the French word for “friends”), the Advantech Medical
and Intelligent Station.
Built-in multiple I/O ports for easy
integration with equipment and software.
Computer inside
Software
Intelligence is built into AMiS via specially designed battery management software. AMiS Link is an application that provides
management choices and settings for both hospital IT and medical staff.
AMiS features a seamless design which is completely integrated
into the station. There are no external cables, but there are a
variety of recessed I/O connectors. This design offers maximum
flexibility for healthcare personnel, and ease of use and cleaning
for the hospital environment.
Height can be easily adjusted to a sitting position
equal to the height of an office desk (795 mm)
No sharp edges
LiFePO4 Battery Technology
AMiS-50
Nurses and other healthcare professionals spend nearly 90% of their time on the move as they provide
care to patients, walking from nursing stations, to wards, to patient rooms. Currently most hospitals are
struggling with makeshift carts, strapping desktop computers or laptops on board and rolling them from
place to place. These carts, however, with wires tie-wrapped or wound about legs, often have issues with
cleaning, power and working space. They just aren’t designed for the optimal healthcare environment.
Four 125mm Casters (2 front lockable wheels)
The interface bracket at the rear of AMiS creates a
convenient docking location to combine the mobility of a
medical tablet with the productivity of a full workstation.
Design of DIN rail for accessory integration
prevents damage to the frame.
Highly integrated,
smooth industrial design
IT management of AMiS can be programmed to trigger alerts and email notifications when
battery discharge reaches a critical level. Alarms, alerts and remote monitoring make it
possible for IT staff to keep track of AMiS units throughout the hospital. Friendly design, with
large, easy to read icons help clinicians to improve accuracy of data entry. The system features
Windows operating systems (including Windows 2000, XPe, XP, 7, and Windows Server 2003)
and language support options in Chinese (Traditional and Simplied), English, German or Dutch.
