BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The concept of the project is to have our
students share
1. information about cats and dogs;
2. poems they will create about cats and dogs;
3. games (jigsaw puzzles/ crosswords/ word
search games);
4. proverbs on cats and dogs;
5. Songs on cats and dogs;
6. a puppet show.

AIMS
We would like our students to :
 improve their vocabulary,
 get to know more about cats and dogs;
 exchange knowledge about pets,
 send some decorations and drawing
concerning cats and dogs
 make activities and scenes which will
be realized with puppets
EXPECTED RESULTS
Pupils’ respect for animals by
getting to know the importance of
taking care of their pet;
 Pupils’ increased motivation and
participation by getting to know the
importance of learning English as a
foreign language through a number of
authentic engaging experiences such as
collaborating with new digital friends
or producing written or spoken
discourse.

WORK PROCESS
September
Partner pupils get to know each other (likes,
dislikes, schools, countries and so on) (WEB

October
Pupils create a shared digital booklet/big
interactive poster (e.g. through glogster) with
information on cats and dogs and proverbs
related to these animals– embedding images
(pupils’ drawings, photos, royalty free images)
will be appreciated as it’ll offer a more
attractive effect. Teachers prepare the headings
of the book units and arrange which unit each
country will work on (Possible headings :

Students in groups write short poems on cats or
dogs and then they share them with their
partners by reciting them on the same
voicethread WEB TOOL: https://

1 December - 18 December
Students are divided in groups and prepare
puzzles and word searches for their partners to
solve. The games are uploaded in the project
blog. Two groups take photos of cats and dogs
or search for Royalty free images and prepare
a jigsaw puzzle (WEB TOOL: http://
www.jigsawplanet.com/), two/three other
groups prepare word searches on cats and
dogs-related vocabulary (WEB RESOURCE/
TOOL: http://justwordsearch.com/
create.html ).
January 9 – February
Each partner country creates a short theatrical
play on cats or/and dogs. When they finish it,
the partner school reads the script and acts the
play out using puppets. The acting out process
is video recorded and uploaded on the
twinspace platform. Comments are added by

March – 24 April
All countries will create a common song on cats/
dogs or both/ Each country creates one/two/three
verse(s) and the next one adds to that(/them).

Besides formative evaluation during the
process of the project, there will be an end- ofthe year evaluation (WEB TOOL: https://
polldaddy.com/. Dissemination will take place
through the creation of a poster/ school

relevant site)
