Question
I don’t see a closing
date, when should I
submit my application?
I click on the view job
description link but
nothing happens, what
do I do?
I am legally able to
work in Canada, but do
not currently reside in
Canada. Can I still apply
for a posted position?
Answer
We recommend that you apply for a job opening that you are interested in as soon as you
see it posted.
Often, the job will remain posted until the position has been filled.
Sometimes this is related to your security settings.

3.
please close your web browser
come back to the desired job opening and job description
when there is a pop up asking you if you wish to view only secure items, press no.
Yes. The system will accept resumes with a home address outside of Canada; so long as you
are legally entitled to work in Canada you may apply.
Please Note: You will be required to provide your work permit expiry date.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept resumes/cover letters by any other form than online at
https://www.bchousing.org/careers
Can I e-mail of fax my
application?
When I click the
‘Register’ link, nothing
happens. What’s
wrong?
This helps to ensure privacy, as well as timeliness for applicants.
If you see a job you wish to apply for, you will need to set up a profile by clicking on the
‘register button’ and then select the position(s) you wish to apply for.
Sometimes this occurs when you have pop-up blocker enabled; you will need to disable your
pop-up blocker to use our candidate gateway system.
Please visit the following link for instructions on how to disable pop-up blockers for various
systems. http://www.geeksquad.com/do-it-yourself/tech-tips/disable-pop-up-blocker.aspx
When I try to register I
get a message saying
that the User Name
already exists, what
does this mean?
This normally means that there is already an existing account with the User Name you have
selected. Please select another user name and make sure to document the User Name and
Password for your records and for future reference.
If there is a possibility that you have previously set up a profile using that user name, please
log into the system using that user name and the associated password.
If you entered an email when you set up your profile, you can click the Login Help button and
select either:
1.
Forgot your password
OR
I don’t remember my
password and or
username; what does
this mean?
2.
Forgot your User Name?
The information will be sent to your ‘preferred’ email address showing on your profile.
If you get an error message that reads “We have no record of your email address, please
create a new user account” ; this means that you did not enter an email address when
creating your user account. You will need to create a new user name and password and
recreate your application materials.
We strongly recommend that you enter as much contact information for yourself when you
set up your user account, i.e. Email address, phone number etc.
I keep getting a
message that says “You
are not authorized to
access this
component…”
If you are an employee trying to view the external careers link from a work computer,
please close your PeopleSoft sessions and try again.
