Oct 17 & 18 - Parent Teacher Interviews Oct 17 - 20 - PAC Book Fair Oct 35 & 26 - NID Teacher’s Conference Gail, our Tlingit language and Culture teacher. Gail started moose stew lunch last year as a thanksgiving treat and she has continued the tradition, lucky for us that the two events can be joined together and that the entire community is welcome to partake. The entertainment begins at 11:00 am in the school gym. Parent/Teacher Interviews Next Wednesday, Oct 17th and Thursday, Oct 18th are scheduled for parent teacher interviews. On both days the students will be dismissed on hour earlier, at 2:06pm. The bus will depart at 2:15pm on each of these days. You will received a date and time scheduled for your teacher meeting either by email or notice home. If this time slot doesn’t work for you please contact Kelly. If you could confirm that you received the email/notice home by sending Kelly a quick email or call it would be appreciated. October 25 & 26 Non Instructional Days due to Teacher’s Conference NO SCHOOL Picture Day Local photographer Manu Keggenhoff, will be creating the school photos again this year! Photo package options are attached to this newsletter, detach (or print) and return to the school with payment. Make cheques payable to Atlin PAC. Picture Day will be held on Oct 17th. Book Fair This years Book Fair will be held on October 17, 18, 19 & 20 in the school home Ec Room. Wed & Thurs (17 & 18) the book fair will run along side the Parent/Teacher Interviews. HOURS Wed & Thurs 12-5pm Fri 12-3pm Sat 10am-1pm Each year the PAC has made enough sales to earn 20% of the profits from the annual book fair. This income is used to purchase books for the school library and classrooms for the benefit of our children. If our fair can bring in $1600 we will earn a 50% profit on all sales. This is the goal of the PAC this year, we hope everyone can help make this happen. Atlin play group APG is a Success By 6 sponsored group dedicated to bringing families of children ages 0 to 6 together for organized activities and social playtime. The program will start on Tuesday Oct 30th and run Tues & Thurs at the Teen Centre from 10am - 12 and on Wed at the school gym from 10am - 12. The Atlin Play Group will kick it off with a launch party on Oct 27th at the Teen Centre 11am. There will be refreshments served and potluck desserts. Dress up in your Halloween costume! This is a family oriented program not a daycare or drop off facility. Teen centre The hours for the Atlin Teen Centre are Monday, Wednesday & Thursday, 3:30 6pm. All children 11 years old and up are welcome. Pac The next PAC meeting will be Wednesday, Oct 10th. 7PM in the school staffroom.
