Handling
Offloading is ideally done pneumatically, using high pressure dry air to transfer from delivery truck to the customer site storage silo. Generally, PPC
Lime’s contractor’s road trucks are fitted with blowers to aid with the offloading. Customers therefore need not have blowers onsite.
Storage
It is important that lime is stored in an enclosed dry area. Unslaked lime reacts with water (including atmospheric moisture), producing heat and
strongly alkaline hydrated lime. Care should always be excercised when handling this product. Refer to the Lime Safety and Handling Guide
