nearly950inthefive-yearhistoryoftheschool.Currently,theschool’spovertyindexis43%.Thedemographicsofthe
schoolmirrorthecounty:55%white,35%African-American,andtheremaining10%representmultipleotherracial/ethnic
categories.

disciplineincidentsatCMShavesignificantlydecreasedwiththeimplementationofaschoolwidedisciplineplan.Havingclearritualsandroutinesforclassroomsandthecommonareason

TCHSislocatedintheruraltownofPerry,Florida,andservesapproximately700students.The
schoolteamhasworkeddiligentlytoimprovegraduationratesfrom64%in2013-14to81%.
TCHS“oncampus”dualenrollmentopportunitieshaveincreasedfrom3classesto10classesoffered.TheCareerand
TechnicalEducation(CTE)programwasasingledraftingclasswith10students,butcurrently220studentsareenrolledina
CTEcourse.Thenumberofindustrycertificationshashadanexplosiveincreasefrom4to98studentsearninganindustry
certificationeachyear.BiologyEOCscoresincreasedfrom52%to77%proficiency,andUSHistoryEOCscoresincreased
30%to70%proficiency.Additionally,studentinvolvementhasseenadrasticincreasewithstudent-centeredclub
participationincreasingfrom5%involvementratesto52%.

Thestudentpopulationisverystableandrarelyincreasesordecreasesbymorethan20students.HMShasalargeESE
studentpopulation—twoEBDunitsandtwoCBSAunits.Theschoolalsohasadvancedcurriculumwithmanyhonorsand
advancedclasses.StudentsareabletoprogressthroughAlgebraandGeometrybeforeenteringhighschool.LastyearHMS
receivedaB-ratingfromtheStateofFlorida.
